What’s Spurs Plan For Jeremy Sochan?

What’s Spurs Plan For Jeremy Sochan?

The San Antonio Spurs are working on developing and evaluating several key players. Spurs Trade For De’Aaron Fox changed everything as they now have a star to pair with Victor Wembanyama. Spurs Jeremy sochan could be a key piece but also trade bait in the offseason.

  1. If I had to guess, or my theory… Sochan is our future small forward… They had him practice on his handles at PG… They now have him practicing center n power forward to build his strength…. All this to have him in the future as our small forward… The future in mymind .. Fox 🦊 , Castle 🏯 , Sochan , Wemby – a Center…. Backup – Vassell or Keldon as the six man off the bench, alien in the mask 👽

  2. MITCH IS A DEI HIRE AND THAT'S THE PROBLEM… He's clueless…..Put Sochan in the starting lineup, play him 35 minutes. Put Castle in the starting lineup and CP3 on the bench……THIS SHIT IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE

  3. Play him beside wemby as much as possible in the paint. I can't stand Sochan on the 3pt line. But, he is good in the p&r an rebounding.

  4. Sochan was an experiment in Dennis Rodman, Version 2. But Sochan never developed. He lost his MOJO after last year. He is a bench reserve at best

  5. They need to move him. He is too slow to be a wing defender and too undersized to help in the paint. He is a decent hustle guy but we need actual talent to become contenders.

  6. Consider the possibility than Wemby's career could encompass two, or even three, dynasties. De'Aaron Fox may be the complement for Dynasty #1, and Jeremy's role in this dynasty may not be key, or major. I was recently reminded that Rodman took years to develop into the savant that he was known to be. Jeremy is still very young. If the Spurs hold on to him (and I hope that they do), he may not become a major factor until Dynasty #2, with the next big name, or names, that play alongside Victor. But who knows – Dynasty #1 may take a couple more seasons to begin, and by then maybe Jeremy will have matured into a player who can be a major contributor by that time.

  7. People don’t understand how essential sohan is in the playoffs. 90 percent of contending teams have a large wing player who forces doubles. Having a guy who can match is essential for consistency in the playoffs. Example only reason olvide lost to Dallas was they didn’t have a wing who could stop Luka.

  8. I agree. Why start with Chris Paul..? I get it, he is a hall of gamer but he won't be hear next year, why is he getting so much playing time? I think he needs to come off the bench.

  9. Your stuff does not make sense. I will continue to say this until you stop with your ridiculous GM suggestions. You say silly stuff and some Spurs fans who, like you are anxious, overreact and think it makes sense…..it doesn't at all. #1 Shooting is a premium skill in this league. Not driving, slashing, dunking. Deep perimeter shooting is the most valued skill in this league.. Devin Vassell is the second best scoring guard on this team after Fox. He's the second best three point shooter percentage wise after Barnes who is having a career year on the perimeter. FYI, Devins career three point percentage is four points higher than Fox's . There's a premium for that talent in this league and that's why he is getting paid. Also you dismiss. that teams take time to build chemistry. This team has a unique talent in Wemby and that has forced everyone to think differently about how they play with him. They've asked Vassell to play a corner shooter often as they figure out what works, consequently he's playing out of position to where he's best suited as a triple threat scorer: dribble, drive, pass. You seem to miss that. They're doing the same with Jeremy. Who is their best defender and second best rebounder. For now they have put the rookie in the triple threat wing spot. He doesn't have the perimeter shot for the corner three as they are giving him a large sample size to evaluate what he can do. It's why Malaki Branham never plays. (It appears the Spurs have seen enough of him). Castle fluctuates between great/okay/bad, but don't think for a second he's the answer to their offense, he's too much one on one and less pass the rock which makes him perfect for what he's doing off the bench as a scorer.. Chris Paul is on this team because they want to play inside of a system and focus on teaching and staying balanced in roles, with Wemby having greenlight freedom. That's what they are seeing now. Jeremy is not a talented scorer but he is Dennis Rodman like in other ways. That is also not a talent you will trade and you have to continue to develop. Pop said last year that Devin had the greenlight offensively and Jeremy stayed on the court because of what he does defensively. To compete in this league, especially with guys getting hurt, going thru slumps, bad matchups, etc.,, you need multitudes of really talented guys with skill. To disrespect those guys and what they've done is dissing the game and you should give it more honor than you do, especially with Devin, who in two/three years when they are competing for something important can be a borderline all star and key cog. Same for Jeremy. None of these guys are going anywhere. Key point I know you don't appreciate. Before Fox arrived, Dev was the guy along with Wemby that the other team focused their scouting report on. If he was hot the Spurs could beat you, so they ran double teams at him to get the ball out of his hand.. Now that they have Fox, Wemby and him. It's why he got 2 on 13 shots against Orlando, a team with tough defenders. That's what you should be pointing to, just like last night's performance for Jeremy. Save that other stuff for the HATERS. Last point. HB was open for those 6 three pointers in the first quarter. He's not on the Scouting Report. Respect the talent and the game.

  10. Sochan is going to be in the league for the next 15 years. He’s a better version of slo-mo who can do a little of everything. Not sure he’ll ever be a star but he brings his lunch pail and hard hat to work everyday and those kind of players are hard to find in the league nowadays. It’s full of babies and prima donnas! Personally I hope sochan retires a Spur. Love what I’ve seen from the kid so far. Plus he has his teammates back in scuffles no matter who it is…

  11. Keep him he better than a lot ppl know if we trade him or worst just let him go spurs will regret it forever

Edit: we need to let go of vassel he play like he star and all them shots he take and missing is hurting the team bro barely passes the ball

  12. Sochan good give him more mins and work on his 3pt for nxt season bro just has to finish developing it’s his 3rd season start castle, sochan wemby, fox, and Champagne vassel KJ in the bench in the future

  13. I'm a big Jeremy Sochan fan and my understanding is that he is playing limited minutes because of a lower back issue. So he is coming off the bench because of that. Personally I don't think Fox and CP3 should be playing at the same time right now because CP3 is not the future. Not saying CP3 should not get minutes off the bench but he should not get minutes with the "main unit". I think the Spurs should replace CP3 as a starter with Castle who is their future starter.

  14. The problem might not be entirely about his development into a promising player with better attitude towards loss and skills, but the bigger problem is the salary he would be asking for when his contract is expiring. Wemby gets max, Fox gets 32M now and will be more in 2 years, Vassell 29M, KJ 25M, HB 19M (expiring in 2026), CP3 11M (expiring this year and might re-sign similar contract), not saying other guys on the bench, our salary cap is not able to make him happy with 25M+ and question is if he worths it. Unless he is willing to take only 10M, or he can hardly stay in SA as we need to spare cap space for Castle in 3 years and Fox in 2 years.

  15. Sochan as rim runner and a low volume shooter is his best offensive role. He's averaging a respectable 34% from 3 but we all know he almost never takes them and he's become one or the best pick n roll runners in the entire league and is our best hustle player. my fear is his game rn is athleticism based and since his back injury against the clippers he doesn't have that same explosiveness.
