The Toronto Raptors made a ton of moves at the trade deadline but there were some concerns that the team would move away from the rebuild. After tonight, it is clear Masai and Bobby crafted these moves so well that there will be no hiccups with the tank but we are still set up very well for the future. Ben Rogers breaks it all down.

I see RJ moved with ingram here now. if raptors get a top 6 pick, its likely rj moved at draft because he going to bench basically.
essentially if they can move RJ at draft for a 12-15 pick, they can draft a 3 pt shooting 7 ft mobile center in maluach or mcqueen to develop for a year or two and move off of jakob poeltl as ulrich chomche is brought up as back up to maluach or mcqueen in a year or two.
there is alot of centers in 2025 draft, but 1 in the 2026 first round and he isnt a stretch big and he undersized as well malachi moreno.

Masai doesn’t know shit .. we’re stuck fighting for the play-in for the next decade with the BI trade. How do you give Quickley that contract? Trade Scottie while he still has any value all his stats are empty just padding them in garbage time.
Why in the hell are fans suggesting to trade RJ for a non nba player to all of sudden contribute and replace a player avg. 21/6/6 .. team has hardly been healthy enough to even build chemistry. now with Ingram in Toronto, this team hasn’t been this stacked, with this much talent in years, and that’s hoping Ingram can actually stay healthy for a full season by next season,all while potentially getting a lottery pick in this years draft. cmon now, You need big wings to win in today’s NBA

This is a collective effort. Young rooks and sophomores are right on schedule. Though its not perfect, the starters are showing glimpse on what they can offer. And with the help of the team health and rehab staffs, this Ingram signing is just perfect for next year.
And who knows if ping pong ball will give us another favorable bounce?
If egos aren't a problem RJ goes to the bench Grady's 3's starts, opens the floor. We desperately need a great big back up or starter then we because one of the deepest teams in the NBA. I love signing Reed if we have money in the off season
Question – with the BI trade, who gets sent to the bench? Im hearing it's Dick fine. Now, follow up question. Raptors land a top 5 pick. Who else are we sending to the bench? I keep coming back to that, we got the starting 5 young and with new contracts. Going to assume it aint going to be BI or Scottie or Jakob….RJ or IQ then would be the only two that fit the bill. So that means one of those two are gone shortly after this upcoming draft if we do land that top draft pick unless we're putting the draft on the bench?
There have been games this year against tough opponents that they've lost where I still came away really pleased with their effort. They don't quit despite being regularly short handed. If they can stay healthy, this team is going to make some noise next season. We've got scoring, a very active D, our rookies are coming along great along with improving Ochai and Grady. If we could scoop Flagg or Ace Bailey in this year's draft, and get a bit more size, we should be in pretty good shape.

Raps fans honestly dont deserve talent. NY fans said RJ was trash and our dumb fanbase runs with that narrative even though the eye test proves the narrative wrong. RJ is our second or third best player right now with Scottie and Jak. How many 24 year olds average over 21ppg in the league? To put it in perspective everyone was saying IQ is the better player but he is older, a worse playmaker, has no paint game and a slow, low shot release. If anything RJ at his current contract is a steal and IQ is robbing us blind. Next year when he is healthy he will be 26 (technically in his prime) and will be one of the worst starting pgs in the league efficiency wise, defence wise (he is a worse defender than RJ even and gets bullied 1v1) and in terms of playmaking. That is unless he miraculously stays healthy and develops more in 8 months time than he has his entire career, which is highly unlikely.
Out there without Jakob? They were out there missing THREE starters (if you include BI). But I agree. A Masai masterclass. The rookies will get plenty of time to develop, and the competitive tank continues. This team will be a force next season.
