The Mavs had to decide whether or not to give Luka Doncic a $325 million dollar supermax contract when he's 40 pounds overweight, and refuses to listen to the coaching staff. I've got a news flash for you – Dallas made the right move in getting this guy off the team. New Orleans wishes they could do this with their similar problem with Zion Williamson. If you want to fault the Mavs for anything, it's that the didn't ask more draft picks in return. Apparently, they reached out to other teams who turned them down precisely because they don't want a lazy (if offensively talented) headcase polluting their locker room.

The only problen I had with the trade was the Mavs didnt get much for him when they couldve named their price. IMO, Luka shouldve been gone two seasons ago. The guy is a whiner, gets hurt alot but knows how to score and plays defense (whenever he wants) For those reasons you couldnt give a player a max deal. Yes, he helped take the Mavs to the finals but how did he do in them? This lingered on into next season causing Nico to push the button. Will Luka learn from this? He better; cause this shows it doesnt matter how good you are you still have to do your part. If he winds up ballin' in LA or anywhere else and wins a championship, I wont see it as Mavs f'n up, I would see this as Luka maturing and realizing what he couldve done better. All Im pissed off about all of this is we didnt get a ton for him when the Mavs couldve.
