React Pod: Tristan Thompson sparks needless scuffle in Cavaliers’ blowout over Raptors (audio only)

An exhausted Will Lou recaps the Toronto Raptors’ 131-108 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. He breaks down RJ Barrett’s encouraging return to the lineup, the continued emergence of the 2024 Raptors rookie class, and then breaks down Tristan Thompson being needlessly extra, again. Then, he shares takeaways from Bobby Webster and Brandon Ingram’s introductory press conference.

Three stars: RJ Barrett, Scottie Barnes, Jamison Battle

Gerald Henderson award: Tristan Thompson

  1. The only thing I learned last night is that Triston Thompson is still in the league. Thought he retired years ago

  2. The notification for this video popped just when I was thinking about the Tristan Thompson incident. Jamal Magloire should have been there to smack TT.

  3. Triston thompson is a cheater on and off the court.. just a horrible human being in general so i dont even bother with his stupid antics😂

  4. Tristan has no compassion towards our country, not helping the Canadian national team. Disrespecting our only Canadian team in NBA. I’ll boo him from now on, if I see him play again.

  5. Man thanks for giving RJ his flowers. He's been my MIG all season and it baffles me how much disrespect this man gets. He's a local boy. He powers to the rim every game and gets hard earned buckets, no other Raptor fearlessly drives to the rim like he does. He demonstrated a calm, mature, level headed leadership style when Scottie was out, and the result were my favourite losses of the season – tight, hard fought losses while he put up 30ish a night. Sure he has areas to work on – show me one Raptor who doesn't have a million things to improve as well. At least RJ is consistent for better and worse – yo those free throws yeesh. I hope the fanbase can look past some shotty D and a few missed free throws in favour of what he contributes to the culture.

  6. When Scottie and IQ were injured at the beginning of the season it was RJ and Gradey who were keeping the raptors competitive. They lost a lot of games but the point differential was low. Raps fans need to appreciate RJ's heart more. I guarantee you if it was Scottie or IQ leading the raps alone they would not have been that competitive.
