To try and give Nico any credit is BS! He has to own it and he also didn't have to slander the guy who got you to the finals. The Mavs are not going to win a championship in the next three years and he's going to have to own this decision for the rest of his life! I don't care how many great decisions a person has made, they'll be remembered for the worst trade of all time! 💯💯💯
I mean, why did the 76ers give 200+ mil to a 34-year old PAUL GEORGE? I don't get it. Yeah, sure, there was SOME logic to it, but clearly it was a big gamble. A big gamble that is not paying off. I mention this because I think the Luka trade falls into the same realm. You can find SOME logic to it. But also a whole more logic NOT to do it. But at the end of the day it's just some suits rolling the dice as it were.
350 is probably a small price to pay for the revenue that he would bring the franchise. Dumb move

At the end of the day, the Mavericks saved the Lakers the worry about having to pay Luka Doncic the super max (another $116 million). I’m pretty sure that the Lakers are cool with that.🤷🏽♂️
Anthony Davis has all of the defensive abilities in the world. Yet, the only time the Lakers won a championship with him was during the pandemic year when that season was delayed for a good three months, travel was extremely limited and teams didn’t have to play a typical crazy-long regular season and playoff schedule. Since that pandemic season, Anthony Davis hasn’t been a factor whatsoever in helping an NBA team when a championship. Now AD is five years OLDER. If you think that AD is suddenly going to suddenly get healthier and more durable at 31/32 years old, you’re delusional. Good luck with that.🤣 Luka Doncic might be out of shape, but he’s out of shape at 25-26. He can get away with being out of shape for the time being, because time is STILL on his side. It’s like that when you’re 25 or 26 years old. Try to keep that in mind when you’re taking about a superstar in his mid 20s vs. a superstar in his early 30s. AD is NOT LeBron James. As a Sixers fan, it's just funny (sad, almost) how Dallas can be so hesitant to sign a player like Luka for a Max deal when the Sixers throw Max money around at players who are nowhere near the same caliber as Luka, most of which end up injured or moving on from the team.

Luka was on his path to live in the WCF and Finals for the next 10 years and probably win a few chips on the way. The NBA as a whole is losing viewers because the Lakers suck always out early they need the top dog of the NBA to play for the Lakers and that guy in the NBA right now is Luka Doncic averaging an all time playoff performance of 33/9/9 2nd all-time in NBA history. So we're talking about a GOAT level player. To increase the viewership the NBA as a business needed the Mavs to give up their top dog player for the greater good of the NBA. No way in hell would anybody be that stupid to give up a GOAT level player just like that. The whole story of Dupond releasing the story looking dumb etc its all part of the WWE style pr stunt to make the story more real. Its not this trade was done by the CEO of the NBA.

AD makes 44 mm a year and is not a better player than Luka and is 6 years older and more injury prone. Mavs lowered their chances of winning immediately. Didn't save any money because AD is out so often. It makes no sense on any level. Supermax for Luka was gonna be 60 mm a year. If you factor in AD injuries, AD prolly is more expensive per game. And if you're not gonna give a supermax to Luka who are you willing to give? Luka is prolly top 3 or 4 player in NBA. Who's gonna buy an AD Mavs jersey? Just wear street clothes. Same thing. Luka was also way underpaid last 5 years. He earned it. So it can't be about money. Luka isn't fat. Even fat Luka is better than 99% of the league. It has to be EGO and stupidity. There is only one way this makes partial sense. The owner having a beef with Luka. But as i said partial, because he could swipe half the league for a Luka ask. Instead he choose to deal with the Lakers, a team in the same conference and hand them a 100mil discount for an all star that hasn't even hit his prime yet. You only do this for love.

International superstar? If his national team were to medal. I know all of these insiders and talking heads need to beat a dead horse over and over but it is just what it is. Luka is a lazy diva. Why would any team want to pay him $350 million? Maybe this changes his attitude. It does not necessarily make them wrong at that point. Sure he can score, but he needs to take all of the shots, slow down the game, hog the ball…
