Which Cleveland Cavaliers’ 2-way player is MOST DESERVING of an NBA Contract?

Which Cleveland Cavaliers’ 2-way player is MOST DESERVING of an NBA Contract?

The Cleveland Cavaliers have an open roster spot.

If the team doesn’t sign a buyout guy, they’ll have to convert one of their two-way contracts into a full time NBA deal.

That means either Emoni Bates, Luke Travers, JT Thor, or Nae’Qwan Tomlin could get the call.

Between those four, who should it be?

Travers racked up 25 points (9-17 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 18 rebounds, 10 assists, one steal and two blocks across 33 minutes Thursday in the G League Cleveland Charge’s 130-116 win over the Raptors 905.

Travers recorded a triple-double for the third time this season on the G League level, continuing to prove his worth as an all-around threat on the basketball court for the Charge. The 23-year-old forward is averaging 19.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 10.0 assists and 2.0 blocks per game during the 2024-25 campaign.

  1. I could see bringing Thor up because he might be of positional need although Travers looks the most ready. That said, why not try to sign Mo Bamba and let those guys still develop?

  2. I could be mistaken but I think the Cavs can also give a guy a 10 day contract to reset the time threshold when they'd have to add someone

  3. Emoni is made for Washington! Lol. Him and Poole can each jack up 30 shots a piece while they look forward to the number one draft pick…

  4. The right JT Thor obviously Bates isn't ready nor is Travers Thor is young can shoot proven to be NBA ready when he plays meaningful minutes and can potentially replace Dean Wade or play his role

  5. Id rather bring Travers up and really push him i think everything else he brings to the table including his scoring at 2 levels well.
