Honestly, considering how many times the #1 pick got stolen by the lower odds team, it is all a lottery, and always will be. But when you look at the last #1 draft in the past 10 years, how many likely are or will become a superstar. Other than Antman and Victor, I don't consider any of them as franchise changing cornerstone. With how the NBA has evolved to a bunch of pamper kids, you trust Masai building with the right piece than winning the lottery. You might end up with Ben Simmons or Zion Williamson, who is supposed to be a difference maker, but due to their willingness to try, they are expensive baggage for the organization.
We need Bailey over flag
We play all the bad teams. If you can manage to blow them… it’s actually a positive. Double edged sword
Flagg is probably best case scenario but a top guard out of this draft if good could fit really well or a full blown stretch 5 but i don't think there is one.

Making up 3.5 to 5 games is not that easy. The Nets are blatantly tanking, but the others I'm not entirely sure they'll be that competitive for our pick.

lol what 18 year old athlete turns down $50m/4 years to go back to college for free, risking injury or poor performance? His agent and family would be going all sorts of crazy. You simply do not turn down generational wealth like that, nevermind the competitive aspect of playing in the top league for your sport.

People need to remember Atlanta for the first pick last year and I think they had the 10th best odds.
And when the pels Ivan’s got it I think they were 9th best odds. The lottery can really even things out
The Raptors do not have one starting player from their 2019 championship season. The players in this league don't sign long term contracts which jeopardizes the building process. As a result, trying to build a team becomes very difficult. Therefore, no one can predict what kind of team the Raptors will have next year or the years past that. This is a major flaw with just not the Raptors but all the NBA teams. It's no wonder the basketball ratings are so far down now. Fans will not support a team that constantly changes its players.
The odds of even getting Flag are not good..even if the stars align and lady luck is on the Raptors side. What does the top five or ten players list look like for options ??
Not worried at all wheather cooper , ace bailey or Derek queen at 10 . I'm sure Masaii has fit he has in mind. He's the draft wizard .
For those that don't see how important getting a top pick this year is, they need to face two facts. First the talent the Raptors have right now isn't near good enough, over the long haul and second as Masai has not taken the traditional bottom-out rebuild route. They simply aren't going to be able to keep feeding the talent pool at a high enough level to get any better than upper-middle tier. Just check out the ridiculous stock pile of draft picks even teams like OKC have between 2025-31 (Scottie's extension period). Toronto is basically knee capped in terms of finding that gem player, which can make the team elite. Scouting and development is all well and good but you can't do that for speed, length and athleticism if you can't draft and/or trade for it. Winning next year comes at a cost defined in high draft picks.
I think more realistic is around 3-5 spot, obviously a lot can happen but to get the top 2 spots would be tough right now.
Raptors need a top 4 pick. 5 and down isn't worth the tank
The last thing America wants in Cooper Flagg in Canada. If we some how get the number one pick, watch some weird things start to happen. I still pray we get Flagg.
We need to get off this cooper flagg… because people are going to be disappointed even if it's top 5 which is really good considering we already have a core in place. At this point if we can't afford to keep guys we draft their replacement…RJ/IQ
The only addition that the Raptors need to make in this draft pick is to get Khaman Maluach. That’s it. Period full stop.

The whole thing about this year was that this draft is suppose to be so deep that there are lots of options.
Flagg is not the only option…plus he did just turn 18.

IF Cooper stays another year, he will NOT be the #1 pick next year. Aj Dybansta is a WAY better prospect than Cooper is. And considering Duke has top recruits next year Cooper isn't staying. Why is it only cooper Flagg being talked about as if Ace Bailey and Harper don’t exist? Any of them two boys on the raptors would be great! Bailey is already more talented than our whole squad.
Flagg will be the #1 draft pick next year if he stays in school. He is young and he should stay in school and have some fun. There is no need for him to rush to the pros
@benrogers you ignoring fantom injuries and resting players in the last 27 games. calling up 10 days from gleague and starting them as starters. there are many beautiful ways to tank the last 27 games.
ingram may not even play this season as there is no timeline for his return which is also beautiful.
