Protect all the expiring deals and just leave all our bad contracts available

You want him to develop yet you want the bulls to tank and for his whole environment to encourage losing on purpose. Tanking doesn't work. Rebuilds and tear downs work but not intentionally losing. You can basically bank on any player that's there never learning how to win.
