The fact that alpi played only 3 minutes isn't a huge deal at all!!! He's still rehabbing that back injury!! Who cares!! Regular season is more important anyway!!

Man, I do not think Kevin Hart is funny and Adam Silver needs to be replaced. Go back to the regular All Star game and give awards to each team for best defensive player and high scorer. Trophies and money awards. Then a payment to the winning coach so they will play the players that want to play and the ones who don't, can ride the pine. That will be motivation for a coach to win. Let's go back to tradition. Take Kevin Hart completely out of the picture unless during the skills challenge you have to hit Kevin Hart with a basketball.
You really cant complain about not getting meaningful minutes in an allstar game, the game time was shortened, its played at "Allstar Weekend" level, I'm sure they're all content on being selected in the first place. The real allstars didn't get much playing time. It is what it is, first time I've watched allstar weekend for a couple years because its usually not high level basketball. I agree they're on the right direction with a 4 team tournament, they should add an All-Snub team.

All this Wemby hype is for nothing. I don't see him being healthy with his frame. I also see the same problem with Chet, just my opinion.
They need better competition for slam dunk championships. They need to go back to East Allstars vs. West Allstars. But 3 point shoot out and skills challenge those 2 are the highlights of Allstar Saturday.
It was the worst All-Star game of the last 20 years. We woke up at the crack of dawn to watch complete nonsense. Instead of having fun, we just expanded our cursing repertoire. Never again. Watching Houston games is enough for us.

Ya I was super disappointed in the coaching just boning over certain players like Sengun 4m in game 1 and 16s in game 2 and Edey got 3m in their game.
My suggestion is play 2×12 mins qtr and target score 50 or until the 24 mins is over…the 4 team format for east and west was also in my thoughts…good to have someone thinking the same which validates the idea…
I think honestly if we guaranteed play time for all players, it's only fair for fans who tuned in or attended could see their player actually play decent time.
Reed is what he is, will Be selling used cars in a few years.
The problem with 40 pt format is, when people are incentivized to do 3 pointers in a league dominated by 3 which btw most fans don't wanna see that nonsense. Bring back 80s-90s basketball!
I would say the coach should give an apology to Alpi, Houston fans and Turkish fans for such a giant slight.

Yeah, it was a little frustrating to wait until 7 am and not even able to watch someone you wanna see in the game. Hopefully they can fix this system and we can see him enjoying his moments more than a couple minutes.

Fan and player #1 votes for guard and front court get automatic admission (I don't even like/vote LaMelo..but cmon he kinda needed to be in the game for the fans sake)
I like tourney format with increased points (early elimination is kind of whack though, so maybe a 3rd place game with lower point goal to flush out the gametime for respective fans)…
And I really do like the idea of linking home court advantage to the winner of East or West… That would get any of their juices flowing and bring stronger E v W rivalries… Imagine if Giannis made an AS game winning dunk on Luka and playoffs was Bucks v Lakers… That's the berth of a new rivalry there … And amplifies the significance of being an all star as well…

As for the 1v1 tournament…. You just have to have a certain amount of slots that make sense airtime… Not a lot of players deserve the slot any ways… This could be one that can be voted on by the players themselves….Ask them on a questionnaire "Whose your top [X amount of slots ] 1v1 player, defensively/offensively" take the average and fill the spots with the ones that want the slot. I wish we had the time to do a representative from each team, but I doubt it…. The skills challenge is definitely out if 1v1 tourney is introduced…. AND THANK GOD!

lets be fair the only 2 things that should be kept in the allstar weekend is the 3-point contest and the cough dunk ( i only say it bc I've seen some of the greats do it). Get rid of all the other nonsense. I do like the 7 player 4 team idea. Also i think a 1v1 is absolutely has to be done. I mean c'mon who doesn't want to see that 1v1 versus the best players in the league. Hell yes.

If you watched the last minute of the game, you saw that Alperen was able to get into the game and play for 19 seconds thanks to Jokic. Mark Daigneault had no intention of putting Alperen in the game. This is a disrespectful act to whoever it is done to, and it is also a disrespectful act to a player who was selected as an All-Star by the votes of all the coaches, and to the coaches who voted for him.
All star format sucks its plane and simple
The think is there is no motivation to play hard for the players, to avoid that back to West vs East format. Give home advantage to wining team for the NBA finals thats only way i think. And limit all players for max 25min playing time.
I can't bring myself to care about any of the goings-on during all star weekend, how the rockets' players did included.
Play the all-star game half court. Less running, less injury risk, more technical game, more varying match-ups. To me the most exciting thing in an all star game is the unusual matchups we get.
And count 1s and 2s instead of 2s and 3s. God, so bored of modern 3 point shooting.
