Luka led Mavs to WCF with Brunson and Dinwiddie as his 2nd and 3rd best players. Not to mention, Dwight Powell as their starting center. 😂😂 If they can have a good center or at least Len pans out decently, they can hang out with anyone.
Have to chuckle to hear everyone keep saying the Lakers have no answer for Jokic, the Joker. A heads up to everyone saying this, mostly no one has an answer for the Joker. Even when they had a great center, AD, he couldn't really stop the Joker either. When Denver played the Lakers in November Jokic had 34/13/8 while AD had 14/10/3, The Joker plays great no matter who he's up against. He's a really outstanding player.

They definitely are more than a center away. You aren't going on a long run without 2 way players and the Lakers have only 1 in DFS. To put that in perspective Celtics have almost an entire playoff rotation of guys who can both shoot 3's and play defense.

Series are about matchups and matching up with Lebron and Luka is much Different than matching up with Lebron and AD. Now take Denver for example Jokic is going to get his regardless of who the center is, AD didnt slow him down a bit but he limited AD and AG always neutralizes LeBron to an extent. Then MPJ and Murray would sauce the Lakers guards and that would be the difference in the games and series. Now one of those two have to guard Luka and MPJ, who it will likely be, doesn't stand a chance. Its just as much a mismatch as whoever has to guard Joker so it's much less lopsided matchup. The Lakers have far better bench depth when healthy the way Vando, DFS and Gabe have been playing though.
The Lakers needs to add Mo Bamba (if healthy), Chris Boucher or Biyombo Bismack if they want to have a chance to compete for the title this season. 2 bigs are not enough especially when they are not a starter calibre.
They need more. They pretty much need everything that dallas had for luka. They need a pj washington and gafford type players and they need some scoring and defense off the bench. This is not it rn, I dont care how much the media wants to try and glaze bron and la. They will also need a year to gel.
Jaxson Hayes has been playing great with Luke and Bron. Athletic big with easy dunks and some blocks. All the Lakers need.
Center away from a good playoffs run maybe but even with an allstar center next year I wouldn't say they're a lock or anything.
A dysfunctional team that missed a lot of players to injuries this year is 5th in the west right now. Next year they could make some noise with real starting center.
