Thought it was pretty obvious Spurs were trying to build him into SGA 2.0. Super tall guard who’s shifty but smooth at times with incredible defense. They even signed Chris Paul who helped unlock SGA on the Thunder. His offense will probably never reach SGA but he could eventually reach 20-24 ppg with all-defensive 1st team upside.
Wells should be the clear favourite to win it. He’s starting on a 2nd seed team guarding the opposing teams best player every night while putting up similar numbers to castle. Ohh and he shots the 3 ball at a higher clip.

Spurs have HORRIBLE spacing which makes his % at the rim even more impressive. He also doesnt play with a backup 5 that can set screens for him & it makes things really tough including defending. He's probably the most nerfed top rookie in the NBA.
He could have been a monster tight end in the NFL.

Thanks for the in-depth analysis, not too many of those around… If he remains healthy, All-Star is well within reach. Btw, I feel both his shooting and floater game will benefit greatly from improved balance/footwork . Just get this guy an European coach for a summer and you'll see 😉
His 3 point % has skyrocketed over the last 15 games, and he doesn't shy from tough shots late in the 4th
