    The only people upset about the Luka trade are CHILDREN. It’s just the most recent opportunity to farm fake internet points from strangers.

    The Dallas Mavericks have had the best white guy in the league for 25+ years. That means something to the fans. You don’t just give that away without a great reason.

    Great decision. It was 4 on 5 for multiple possessions every game complaining to refs. It's bad on tv, but it was gross in person. When the star player is wasting so many minutes petitioning refs that season tocket holders next to me are calculating the tens of thousands of dollars he gets for not playing basketball.. it's bad. Bye Felicia.

    Those minutes AD played in Dallas had everyone thinking " okay, i can see this working"…..then immediately "oh thats why this wont work"

    I usually agree with Bomani and his “different” takes, but this one is a huge reach. Trying too hard to be contrary to the popular sentiment.

    1. If any homegrown consensus top 6 player in the NBA who’s still in their mid-20s (like SGA or Ant or Tatum) were traded for a declining 31 year old AD and little else, those fanbases would be justifiably outraged too. That’s just basic common sense.

    2. Questionable work ethic, nutrition etc. has always been overlooked or at least tolerated if the results are undeniably there and the player is still dominant nonetheless. See: Shaq, Barkley

    3. Even if Nico is hypothetically 100% correct about Luka, most of the other GMs still view Luka as one of the most valuable commodities in the whole league. So if you’re so determined to get rid of such a highly valued asset, why not try to set yourself up for the future with the return? Instead of just going into win-now mode with AD and Kyrie. This new-look Mavs team is 2nd round at best with not much to look forward to in the future.

    People are really reaching to try and say this was a good trade for Dallas. I mean, the Clips would probably love to have the SGA-plus a draft haul for PG trade back. Can you imagine if the Thunder traded SGA for pennies on the dollar now? It’d be rightfully called out. No, DAL traded a top-5 player who isn’t even on his prime yet for a declining big who is, unfortunately, oft injured. It was a bad move for Dallas, and the Lakers had no choice but to say “Yes.”
