I’m glad to see others on board with me on the khaman maluach train.
If he was on another team he would be averaging 20/12/3 blocks / 3 assists.
But on duke he’s the 4th option.
So lucky for us, he’s not featured. I pray he’s on the board when the raps pick.
The three players that are 1000000% Masai guys in the top 8 are cooper Flagg, VJ edgecomb and my guy, Khaman maluach.
Maluach is the pick. He’s always been the pick. I believe if we land in the top 4 we might take VJ.
If we land one Masai might take cooper. But I strongly feel we need to draft maluach. He fixes everything for the future of the centre position.
He can do it all. Super strong but still athletic. Can block shots really well. He’s new to basketball… kinda like pascal was. And he can shoot the three at a decent clip. Right out of the gate he will be a 30-34% 3 pt shooter. But he will stretch the floor for Scottie – RJ / Ingram. Giving them room to work.
And he can play inside / out
My biggest fear is if duke goes deep more eyes are on maluach. I worry if the raptors drop down from winning to much, or bad lottery luck we will miss out. Then I could see maybe asa Newell or tre Johnson if we slide to 6/7/8
I seriously hope we don’t, we need to fix the centre position with the BEST centre. Maluach would have been the first pick last year 100%. I feel even tre Johnson would have gone number one last year.
The 8th to 9th pick this year would have probably been the first pick in the 2024 draft

This is what I would like to see next year: Starting lineup: IQ, Dick, BI3, Barnes (30 mins), JP (20 mins). Bench: Shead, Walter, Agbaji, Mogbo (18 mins), Khaman Maluach (14 mins)/Trade from Barrett (14 mins). Trade RJ Barrett for a young bench PF/C + 1st round pick + 2nd round pick this summer.
Maluach is gonna be a monster. If Toronto gets pick 3 or later and he’s available then you take him. Also, Toronto has ALOT of bait for a Giannis trade next year which I think had some distant factor to play in the Ingram deal. Masai and Bobby love him and despite what ignorant Americans think, he and Masai have a friendship/mentorship and it’s real that his PREFERRED alternate team is in fact Toronto.
Maluach also has more offensive upside that either Gobert or Chandler, his shot looks serviceable from mid range and deep. Totally agree with your take.
