probably the best game analysis I've ever heard. Disagree with you on Denver presenting issues for the Lakers. Sure you cant expect a blow out every game but the script has changed with Luka. The Lakers current roster is a horrible matchup for this Denver roster. Lakers defense will have trouble with perimeter players who can playmake, run the pick n roll, and have perimeter shooters which this Denver roster does not have.
This is what the NBA need two greatest passers on a same team not to mention Jokic on the same court with em so it makes 3
Denver will regret not surrounding Jokic much talent

As someone who now roots for the Lakers, they should hire Jason as an assistant coach. His knowledge of the game is top notch. I used to listen to JJ (Old Man and the three) and had no doubt JJ would transition well as a coach. Jason is the same, analysis is spot on. He would be an asset to any NBA team.

Remember seeing the first few years of LeBron and D. weighed together? Just the unbelievable athleticism and explicitness? How it actually made you wonder what else is possible on a basketball court?
Now? We get to see the basketball IQ version of that. I hope LeBron plays for another couple years and Luca learned how to put down a sandwich and maybe try to stop the ball every once in a while. If that happens, they are going to win a few championships .
I think reddick deserves a lot of credit too. Defensive scheme against Jokic was great and Malone had 0 counters. Good win from LA, and proving me wrong a little about the alignment issues I thought luka and lebron would have. Very interesting end to the season coming.

As a Lakers fan, I'm very happy to get a win over a good team, but I'm not ready to glaze them too hard yet. I still think their lack of a defensive paint presence and rebounding is going to be a problem eventually.

Jesus, let's get serious. Jokic took 7 shots v a team with zero interior defense. He and Murray were abysmally bad and the Nuggets looked like it was a pre season game. The Lakers approached it like it was game 7 of the Finals. The difference in energy and intensity was literally night and day. Not hard to understand. The Nuggets have literally owned the Lakers for many years and humiliated them again and again and again. Lakers obviously tired of that. But I think a lot of that is the Nuggets no longer take the Lakers seriously. Can't do that against professional teams but the Nuggets have done that all year.
I know it’s just one regular season game but this felt different. Something has been unlocked. And we might be watching the next great coach in JJ.

JJ's game plan , w/ the help of Scotty Brooks & Nate McMillan, was excellent – Rui ,AR-15, & Vando ( limited mins due to foul trouble ) played great too – DFS & finally GabeV ( in his mia heat era) were exceptional too – as a Lakers fan ( along w/ teams I bet on ) my only concern is that Lakers got a lot of cheap buckets bcuz Denver was lazy AF getting back & imo in a playoff game that probably won't happen – but nuggs won 9 straight & it was a competitive primetime game @ home so idk why nuggs weren't motivated – JJ made joker defend EVERY possession & made him defend in space & basically let the nuggets know that Gordon & Russ hitting a high #&% of 3s is the only way they can beat em – for joker to only have 5 fga in a contested game is the result of an elite defensive game plan being implemented – Hayes & Vando sprinted both ends of the court & imo that takes energy outta joker & it showed & to Jason's point if joker just shoots every time he won't get the offensive rebound if JJ plays ALen who has ALOT more size so Lakers can throw AL on joker if joker is gonna get mega aggressive on D – yes it's a reg season game , BUT all I heard from all the corporate sports media pundits & 10s of 1000s internet random casuals was Lakers won't be able to stop joker yada yada yada – so for now they can all STFU & take the L
You put Bron Luka JJ and proven assistant coaches together. Dear world it's only going to last a couple years but barring injury, this will be universal entertainment. I swear Bron just keeps finding ways to stay on TV. We are witnessing a Genius.

A lot of people might be sleep. If luka takes complete control over that offense than lebron can focus more on defense and rebounds. I think we're about to see a lot more than that. Bron was dialed in on the defensive side

If you're a Nuggets fan you gotta assume Jokic plays better in the future… BUT, you got an outlier 3 PT shooting night from Gordon and Russ and still got killed. Not to mention Denver certainly got the home court whistle in this one, Vanderbilt picked up 2 or 3 super ticky-tacky fouls that limited his playing time when he was causing real issues for the Nuggets. IDK if either of these teams look good enough to challenge my Thunder, but once these Lakers figure it out they might be #2 in the west… they made Denver look bad tonight and that's with Luka in game 4 and everyone rested after all-star.
You spent far too much talking about Denvers defence. Its irrelevant. They scored 100 which will never be enough for them. The story was sinply great Lakers defence and poor offence by the Nuggets

IF that embarrassing Miami loss that the Lakers limped through never happened, do they get the turnaround we have been seeing consistently? I think JJ and staff have done a great job of turning the team into a machine that plays serious great basketball consistently. I think that stinker was the turning point and also perhaps one of the motivators.
Before Luka/ADMax trade Lakers were bought in defensively. Now, the potential on offense is only starting to show. The team has shown that they are still locked in on defense, but now they have nonstop high-level playmaking offense from start to finish with at a minimum 2 of their 3 headed offensive monsters on the floor at ALL times – all are 3 level scorers, high IQ, elite passers.
One more thing. I LOVE AD, however, teams have been able to take him out of a game, and he had a habit of disappearing within a game, and sometimes for an entire game. Luka will not disappear and does not have that history. Luka is also an offensensive engine and creator, whereas AD needs the ball fed to him. So when Lakers need to lean on their stars down the stretch Luka can deliver.
