I say be patient with Ivey. He was still growing as a player when he got injured, plus, he and Cade seemed to really enjoy playing with each other 'finally' with a good sample size. Sadly, the injury derailed it…
Provocative Proposition: Cunningham and Ivey—Dynamic Duo—like Knuckles and Sonic (Montgomery and Gibbs) 2.0! (Love the channel Anthony. Keep up the good coverage of our resurgent Pistons! Dynamic Duos! What could be more in the DNA of Detroit Sports Teams! Dee-troit BASK-et-Ball! Go Pistons!!!
Alot will be determined during free agency. We gotta see what happens with guys like THJ, Beasley, Reed, and Schröeder. I’d love to have em all back. If we retain those guys, I think Ivey will likely be on the move. And with as much patience we might want to have with Ivey, can’t forget about Sasser .
We have to be patient like Boston did with Tatum and Brown.
Ivey is the only fast archetype of player (i.e. Ja , Fox) who figured out his jumper on a 40% clip AND he isn’t even at the level of those guys YET. He is that guy.
I believe Ivey is more of a point guard and needs his own team. I'd inquire about Devin Booker once we get our 1st round picks back. Anthony Edwards if available, too.
J.I is that guy, we need to address the 4 spot on the floor and bench . Everything else is there
Anthony, when you talk about long terms contracts to Ivey and Duren, how much its that cost? Seen the crazy numbers given to "regular" guys in the League, i am very curious to know the long term financial evaluation to our boys…
Cheers from a big fan from Portugal.
It's just know way Ivey is a #2 option. I just don't know we're this is all coming from. Currently, Ivey is a #3-#4 option at best. There's things he has to work on to become even close to a #2 option.
I agree that we can KEEP Ivey as the #2 scoring option..we can ACTUALLY move forward with Ivey/Cade/Ausar/Holland/Duren as the starters..Stew/Beasley/Fonteccio/Sasser and even Klintman…but I think this team NEEDS a 4 with size/height..I would rather a star but I would take a Bol Bol..who SHOULD'VE been on our team years ago🤦
Unfortunately, we’re at a TBD state because Ivey has been hurt during this incredible growth spurt. This is not to knock Ivey’s overall talent, but merely suggesting if his skill can attribute to the winning we are witnessing.
This why his injury is so detrimental. The idea is when he does return the latter point will be under further review.
I think Ivey would be an excellent number 3. I'm hoping we can steal Zion Williamson in the offseason.
The biggest piece they're currently missing to become contenders is a 4. Tobias is a short term play, maybe a long term bench player. Flagg or Ace Bailey could have filled that position, which is why I've repeatedly said that they've started winning a year early. Maybe they could fill that 4 position with Danny Wolf? I would be willing to part with something to get Markkanen, but maybe that's just my Finnish bias talking.
I think Holland can play some 2 guard if others are 3 point shooters point is his defense is awesome have to find minutes for him hes a 2 through 4. Ivey awesome keep him great person Christian also yes that's important.
Patient with Ivey. Don’t forget Monty held back his progression last year. Secondly, pray that Thompson and or Hollins develop a consistent jumper.
