It’s tough I saw improvements but not getting duren and not trading obi sooner hurt (got nothing for him anyways). Even though I like kat, I think if we replayed last year healthy this year we would be better off, not having a bench huge factor. Retaining hartenstein and still getting rid of bogi would’ve been fine over bridges.
Agree with all the glaring issues we have as a Knicks fan.
1. Thibs probably has to go at this point. Can’t adjust to opponents, runs the players into the ground, every play is just iso iso iso hero ball hero ball. Should be so much more 2 man action between Brunson and KAT.
2. Although I think people underrate Mitchell Robinson, you’re right – he’s way too injury prone to rely on.
3. Have basically little to no bench/no reliable subs in Thibs’s eyes to play big minutes for us. It’s clear more moves are needed on that end.
I never thought this year we would actually be in contention, and I do think there is more settling in to do for this roster with all the big changes we’ve seen over the past few years, but like you said if the defense doesn’t improve and we don’t have a reliable bench/a coach who can adjust we will just get smoked in the playoffs. Cautiously optimistic though as a Knicks fan.
Wow! 0-7 against elite teams? I never realized this. And they’ve lost to almost every other team in the league including, Atlanta, Detroit, Chicago, Dallas, Orlando, Los Angeles… Not quite the team I thought they were.

Everyone mentioning starters are overworked, but that's not the only issue with them playing 40 minutes a night; the bench and young players get no development at all. He doesn't use the bench because the bench is weak. No. The bench is weak because he doesn't use it. Toronto finally understood this when they fired Nurse. Good luck, Nicks fans. As a Knicks fan, our ceiling is very clearly defined. We have no room for growth. Better teams are already better than us and our core is weakening because we have no depth. We stand no chance of winning a title
Knicks look great until they play an actual contender. When they play the Celtics, cavs, or thunder they look like a high school team. But when they play some weaker team they look amazing
This isn't a surprise if you know Thibs…it's the same with every team he goes to. Good coach but the teams always fall apart after a few years
Offense can only carry us so far; defense wins championships.

Mazullas also getting better at in game adjustments slowly which was his biggest weakness as a coach and hes really finding his lineups. (Thank you luke kornet for being a positive impact on the court)
Knicks fans need to take one look at yalls bench and understand that yall would be the 6th seed ir worse if the bench played any more minutes. Bringing kat back in that one game was a little ridiculous, but in general, players should be playing more minutes, and I generally like to see it. Especially if the bench is so bad.
As a Knicks fan, the biggest strike I have against Leon Rose is not running back last year’s squad just once. We were one game away from the ECF with a completely decimated squad. I have been saying I wanted to run that team back, and I’m mad to see I was right. Total disaster of an offseason and we took major steps back.

Well OG being hurt is a big factor. He's the teams main defender and the team has a whole has collapsed since his injury. That being said, even at full strength I don't see them beating celtics in 7. Cavs, OKC, and Denver are the only 3 teams I think who have a real shot. Lakers with Luka is a dark horse team though. I'm delusional enough to think they can win it, but with Luka and Lebron I think they can make any series interesting.
Thibodeau has to go. His plan is always: small rotation of guys he "trusts" and overplaying starters. Playing 2010s defense in 2025's NBA. Out coaching him is pretty easy as you'll expect to face the same 5 guys for 40+ minutes and 3 or 4 guys from the bench barely.

As a Pacers fan. Knicks got what they deserve. They sold all their depth and now refuse to let anyone else prove themselves.
So when Leon rose get some criticism? Sure, he brought in sone relatively big name to NY, but that doesn't mean they're the right moves.
Mikal was a definite overpay before he even played in NY
Kat, he's having a career year, but he still a bad rim protecter and has an insane contract which limits their moves
IHart while not on the level of Kat in terms of talent. He's on a cheaper deal than Kat, he's arguably what the Knicks are in need of more and that's rim protection
OG is a very good role player, but is he worth to be paid over 200mill? He's injury prone and he's not even a borderline allstar, so that's an overpay as well
I see that Leon gets lots praise for stealing Brunson on a cheap contract which rightfully so, but most of all the moves after JB seems to go unnoticed or get a lot of benefit of the doubt which is bewildering to me because they're essentially locked in to only having a starting 5 and half (Duece)
They need a new coach, Thibs is not this great coach everyone pretends he is. He runs his players into the ground and he doesn’t make adjustments. He needs to learn to use his bench and come up with creative lineups. Also, Mikal has been disappointing. He isn’t even impacting the game like he did in PHX.
They gave up FIVE FIRST ROUND PICKS for him. And he is at best the 3rd option. Hitting just 35% from 3. They could have made so many moves with the picks that would have actually made the team deeper, and better. It’s still an awful trade.
If my pistons get matched up against NY for the playoffs, I’ll feel really good about our chances

I agree with everything, only thing I didn’t agree with was that u said we gave up everything to win this year and that’s not true, the core is locked up for about 3-4 years, it was so we can contend for those 3-4 years, Leon will add more pieces come off season
