To me the Lakers are the new Phoenix Suns of basketball like the Warriors. Their defense is weak and their best bet is to outscore you. In a 7 game series that’s not happening. I love Luka but him being with princess James is dumb. Both cry the most about fouls and now they’re on the same team. I hope he leaves and goes where HE wants to go.
I'm glad you brought up the Mark Williams stuff because I firmly believe the only reason the deal got rescinded is because the Lakers knew they gave up too much and they could bullshit their way out of the deal to help themselves and hurt a smaller market team without the NBA doing anything to stop it because the NBA doesn't care about anyone but the biggest market teams when it comes to anything. Bet they really could've used Mark Williams when the Hornets beat them a few days ago, though. Karma has a funny way of working sometimes.

The 2026 FA class is a tricky one. It looks great on paper but will be difficult to score a serious player unless the team is on a “one last ride” mission.
1. A lot the current crop of top guys will be old as fuck on the tail of their career but still looking for max player money.
This will be great for teams like GS trying to squeeze a title out of that last bit of Curry, or other teams in similar positions. I’d hate to see the Lakers go that route though. My hope is we build with an eye toward long term stability and abandon the strategies of the LeBrow era.
2. The main players on the younger end are:
-Trae Young, who will get offers from anyone who has money. As far as the Lakers, I can’t see that pairing with Luka but who knows. Luka and Kyrie worked very well.
-Jaren Jackson Jr. We’ll see if he’s still healthy and still a DPOY caliber player. He’s a terrible rebounder for a player of his stature though.
3. The top of the younger generation will be restricted free agents or on team options and difficult to get.
Warriors have had a lot of success without a true big. There aren't any real bigs left in the NBA besides a few and Lakers have played the best of them really well. Cavs will not be able to play both their bigs at the same time I think. The post season will have to have the two bigs playing the 5 while the other is on the bench somewhat.
Anyhow, these reactions after last night are dumb as hell. He’s coming off injury and shaking off six weeks of rust on a new team. There was nothing eye opening or amazing about it.
This is largely a time + familiarity situation.
