I liked him in college and the draft, kinda cuts down the Travers/Bates being the answer at SF arc … kinda too good to keep in the g league. If they bought in to being a second wave when needed. Say a Wade & Strus departure or long term injury, these guys could fill those voids in a real way. The construction even at the base and fringe is kinda elite. Hunter is that SF that makes enough sense I can’t argue my favorite prospect LT, Hunter another great two way forward with a better shot. The Ty connection could keep a band together that usually get broken up by the free market money. The longevity and sustainability of the roster is wild. Media can’t ignore a budding dynasty for long. CPJ TYSON BATES LT JT/Tomlin/Hunt the development team aspect is very real for this franchise.. as getting the next wave ready to be ready to step up, where the Warriors were left waiting on youth to rebalance the roster after a run.
I'm a nerd for numbers and the Cavs have all of the most important numbers on their side and especially since adding Hunter. They were already tops or near the top in important statistical categories and adding Hunter has only made the way they were already playing as a team even more unbelievable. The Cavs will win the Championship if they continue to play the way they have been over the last 13 games because the defense was starting to step it up right before Hunter was added. I believe the numbers tell us that they are the team to beat this season and the Championship runs through Cleveland." Let's Go Cavs"!
The big wing wasnt as big of a need as a backup center still is.
The Cavs maintained a top defense last year without one. Some defensive regression is part of what lead to that trade. Im really happy we got Hunter over Cam, though.
We are still in pretty desperate need of someone to take the load off of Jarrett Allen every night. Dude has gotten banged up in the playoffs for the last 2 years. He can't do it alone, and we NEED someone who can help there.
on a semi-related note, those two possessions from Trendon Watford were egregious. i hate watching him play lol
About Hunter’s cutting (6:25)—this is exactly what Kenny is working on. The Cavs know that when the shots stop falling, they need someone who can cut and post up against Tatum or Brown etc.
I have no doubt Kenny will unlock Hunter’s full game. What’s scary is that the Cavs have five guys who can catch fire and knock down three to four straight threes.
Once the Cavs (and Kenny) figure out how to fully unlock this aspect of their game, it’s going to be over for the rest of the league.

The only thing I’m worried about, in a scenario against the Celtics is if he gets switched on to Pritchard. Hunter isn’t really a lateral defender and I feel that the Celtics will take advantage over that.
His pull up 3 from the top of the key is most impressive to me. Reminds me of KD against us in the finals.
