I think this was a bad move, why embarrass your best player with the national media ? Close door meeting tell him not to comment on other teams. This was Pat Riley shot to interrupt an ongoing contract negotiation they already decided they wouldn’t extent. Months that ensue Butler and his camp realized that and started their own antics and got out of Miami. Now we can see how shitty of a team Pat Riley built and how stupid it was to trade Butler for a bag of chips

Riley should have shut his mouth. He literally humiliated his Star player in public. Butler should have berated him privately in a very aggressive way. Riley was out of place. Butler was being a competitive athlete.
