Your analysis is way way too millennial and stat intensive. And way to bias.
There’s a clear talent disparity between nuggets and the other big 4/5 teams in the league. Cs have the luxury of multiple players to fill the void if a star player has an off game. Nuggets win condition on the other hand is at minimum a 30/10/10 game from Jokic plus large offensive contributions from other players. Nuggets are a 2nd round exit.
Malone is cooked.
He started Westbrook and a lineup without a power forward against Horford and Kornet.
When Celtics were up 24 to 15 3 minutes before the end of first quarter Malone replaces Murray with Nnaji to remedy the situation. Malone took 9 minutes to figure it out.
And no disrespect to DeAndre Jordan its not his fault he is old, but he cannot play 6 minutes in the fourth quarter against serious contender teams.
Celtics have Horford, Kornet and Queta changing and playing on Jokic.

Nuggets don't have enough shooting or overall talent in the rotation in the second unit. It's the weakest bench out of all the contending teams and they're probably an earlier exit this year.

Jason curious to get ur take on LeBron and Luka running more two man game. There’s still a little your turn my turn with both of them. Specifically talking about with LeBron screening and catching in the short roll. Is that easily negated by switching since LeBron and Luka are best guarded by similar archetypes of players?
How many times did Lebron lose in regular season series to teams especially earlier in his career and then play the same teams in the playoffs and bounce them? Nuggets should be fine…the question will always be the bench and whether mpj can be consistent and play tough against tough teams. I lean towards no but this is his year or he will ‘gets the steppin’.
As a jokic fan since he was a puppy, please someone pull off a luka-type deal for jokic and get him off this titanic-type drowning team with no help and minimal coaching. Please god. great analysis as always but how come no one ever mentions that denver had 11 and 13 free throws in their two road losses, against milwaukee and boston, compared to 28 and 27. That is neither mathematically nor in probability theory possible for a team that is number 1 in points scored from the paint.
Not to mention the loss to the lakers where joker was not allowed to move which is impossible without making constant minor fouls, which means you are at the mercy or displeasure of the three referees. Let me emphasize that playing very physically and holding, pulling, playing a patch like in handball on a player are two separate categories. Detroit tried the same thing which caused Malone to get a technical after a minute of play.
Let's not lie to ourselves there are big and small teams. That's the setup and it will always be that way. The look on Murray's face when the reporter asks him what they need to change in their approach to get more free throws says it all.
Murray and gordon for booker and a bench player to match salaries plus some picks would be an interesting trade to me. Suns can get some quality talent and picks back for a rebuild and booker would be an excellent fit with jokic. I initially was thinking KD but idk if he'd wanna play with russ again

I was at this game, felt like the Js missed shots but were able to bully joker or Murray to get easy buckets when they wanted to.
Great game but it was White and Kornet who took the Cs home. Last 6 minutes of the game, Tatum and Brown just did not make anything happen. Especially Tatum, not only shots not falling but also committing turnovers. Also the Cs seem to make it a point to not let Jokic own any space in paint – they are daring other guys like Braun and Westbrook to beat them.
jokic looks slower. his motor up and down the court is not what I have seen in the past. yes his numbers are good, but they don't look scary anymore. Dude was straight abusing AD. I have to admit I am a laker fan and cannot watch a lot of regular season games. am I wrong? also, who is the athlete on denver. braun? Nikola and Jayson are my MVPs as much as I like Shai it is easier to be a PG and put up numbers when your not required by team to be Mr. Do It all! Mazzulla and Malone requires these guys to impact Facilitation Shooting Rebounding Passing Help Defense and some Rim Protection as well! Jokic suppose to be a rim protector as Center either way, JT well he is a KD type SF but plays every position on the court which allows Celtics to be so switchable and unlocks their next level winning plays!! At times JT is Shai, Steph, Giannis and Bam while still having to remain KD that game bag is hard much less not being able to relax on defense like Luka most would burn out! It's why Jokic improved his body and JT started to invest in his they are the closest to LeBron! All without having Dwayne Wade or Kevin Durant like Players but Jamal is a top 10 PG, with Aaron a number 1 overall pick! Derrick should be a top 20 PG, and JB is a 3rd overall pick! They got themselves Iggy types but most would agree no top 75 ever player! That's how elite they are and the only two player Like LeBron to pick defenses apart (Floor General) without doing it from the easiest position as a PG like Shai! Plus no one talks how loaded with Top 10 Lottery talent OKC are of which gives them athleticism and strength to go go on this regular season run!

NBA MAILBAG: Tatum averages 7.7 mins 3.5 shots and 5.5 points in the 4th quarters hes played, Tatum is other worldly the first 3 quarters, averaging 7.9, 6 and 8.9 points in each other quarter with 6, 4.5 and 7 shots in each quarter sits for 4 to 5 mins of the 4th and struggles along with celtics giving up big leads. Mazzulla seems hell bent on keeping this rotation going instead of perhaps tweaking mins in the 1st and 3rd quarters where he averages 11 minutes in each, do you think this could be a problem if mazzulla choses to continue these rotations in the playoffs? PS: if all the games included that they didnt play him once in the 4th hed average 6.6 mins which is mind bogling to me

Nuggets are cooked this year. They're not making it out of the second round and it kills me to admit it
