  1. If Ball is in a deal then Quickley is going back. But with the number of highly touted guard prospects in this year's draft class, it makes no sense to even be talking a deal for Lamelo or trading RJ away until after the draft.

  2. I'm still not sold on lamelo. He runs me the wrong way like trae young. Defensive liabilities, ball dominant PG can pass and shoot… but he needs like 80% of the touches…

  3. LeMelo plays horrible defence and has never understood the difference between a good shot and a bad shot, two things that are big obstacles to winning basketball. The fact that he’s such a fan favourite shows just how stupid most basketball fans are.

  4. Don’t get me wrong he’s a great player but I’ll pass on this… we’re already taking a risk with Ingram who’s known to be injury prone.. the last thing we need is to bring in two of them.. I’m sure there’ll be other PG’s available in the offseason that’ll be a better option

  5. I guess the idea is RJ will be the 3rd option next year meaning his trade value is the highest it could ever be. Love RJ and would love to see him retire a raptor, that said Lamelo is a beast and would put butts in seats.

  6. Trading for IQ makes more sense as they both usually play the point guard position. (Don't want to see IQ go though)

But, this has a huge drawback having the Raptors possibly hitting the second apron within the year. If Masai makes this move, this team is not staying together long (1 title run most likely).

  7. I just think we shoukd keep what we have ruining the chemistry and trading for big stqrs works rarely get a good draft pick we got the notorious bi3 and lets see what the whole squad can do healthy

  8. Ben, we’re RAPTORS fans. We cheer for the team, regardless who’s on it. We want the TEAM to win, not necessarily the guys on it. Once you reach that point, it makes everything so much clearer.

  9. LaMelo plus draft picks for anyone but resilient RJ (who is just getting going and already amazing even with a group of our rookies against Orlando) AND Canadian RJ is more exciting to watch than LaMelo ever was.

  10. You have to start Ochai next to LaMelo. Gradey and Melo would get killed defensively. But I’m down for that trade. I think you can get him to buy in to a winning system

  11. I’m not touching embiid, melo, Durant etc
    Even Giannis.
To land anyone like this would be a huge price tag. We are not in any position to do this. I am not comfortable trading any more picks. I get trading the 2026 pacers pick for Ingram. That pick won’t be that good.
We are in a great spot right now, we need to build this thing properly. That’s why RJ is on the way out. We just saw that Jakobe can do a lot of what RJ does. Obviously he’s not nearly as
Good yet. But he’s also 20 years old. And making a fraction of the $ RJ does.
Ingram is a way better fit for this team.
Rjs defence is really bad. Way too many people focus on offence. Offence is half of the fkin game. That’s why Ben is not a true hoop head. He’s so focused on the offensive numbers. RJ is a matador, just allows everyone to run right past him almost uncontested. We already have gradey who’s a negative defender, IQ is at best an average defender. Jakobe is the best young defender we have besides Ochai and Scottie.
I like RJ, but it’s business. With the new CBA there’s no room for error. You all in the comments that love RJ and say we can’t trade him obviously don’t understand the financial side of the game. We would be literally FKD if we kept RJ . Plus he’s going to want a raise soon. Scottie and Ingram have a 7’3” wing span compared to rjs 6’10. And he’s by far the worse defender out of the 3. Ben, shut the fk up and get your head out of your @$$

  12. Ben, enough man of your RJ Barrett ranting! You’re a complete homer! Who cares if he’s Canadian get over it! You’re not doing yourself any favours when it comes to gaining respectability as a podcast or with this kind of crap over and over and over again, you sound incredibly immature man.

  13. I hope that Masai has opened up a TFSA piggy bank and is regularly making deposits so he can pay RJ what he is worth.

  14. Why are you talking about trades after the trade deadline has ended? Is there some alternate timeline

  15. I don't want to lose both RJ and Quickley. But that deal would make a lot of sense for the Raptors still.

  16. @ben rogers you are not getting lamello for rj, its more like 3 picks unprotected including 2025, and RJ and IQ for lamello ball, and it may cost you another unprotected 1st and 2nds also

  17. Stop it. The Raptors are not in any conversations re: Ball. The Nets, Magic and Rockets are the only teams legitimately being mentioned because of cap flexibility and willingness to max him out.

  18. Ben–Spouter of Speculation–bringing us another nothing burger. Our FO has already taken a flyer on an injury prone "star" (who happens to have a higher ceiling). Our quota is filled. We don't need an inefficient volume shooter who will likely be in street clothes on the bench for most of his contract. RJB–who has been grossly out performing his current contract–really wants to be here. That kind of "homer" pride needs to be rewarded–not traded. Besides he's been steadily improving since joining the Raptors: better defence, better passing, better initiating the offence, better 3 point shooting, and better executing around the basket. In fact, if the Raptors were really serious about tanking, they would sit his ass on the bench and/or have him fake an injury or something. Keep the tank rolling Raps!!!

  19. Can't get too attatched to entire team 1 full year into true rebuild. I not even saying RJ, I say keep him.. but to say people in and out of team is a bad thing. Well thats how we find our long term players. Should Washington have stuck with Jordan Poole, coulibaly and Kuzma because they were their guys type thing? At a certain point it becomes more or less important for loyalty. At some point you do need guys to grow together and keep something going for a long stretch.. but you don't need to do that until you got all your pieces atleast closely into place

Wait till the draft.. any speculation until then can be summed up to "depends who we draft"

  20. I made a comment on the last video and I completely stand by it masai ujiri is not stupid enough to go into the tax for rj Barrett he doesn’t fit on the roster because of spacing having rj bi Scottie and poeltl is shambles there’s no three point shooting knowing all of that a lot of this fanbase want to keep there special connection to certain players just because his from the area instead of thinking what’s best for the team watch couple months into next season Barrett will be gone and Ingram will be averaging 23-25 ppg AND BALLING WITH SCOTTIE AND everyone gonna say Masai your a genius
i will always prefer players who can create there own shot period it’s why I knew siakam could never be a 1st option even though half this fanbase glazed him and now it’s how I know Scottie will never win as a first option his a pass first all round player WHICH IS GREAT bi is not a first option but he certainly fits better and complements scottie better than rj does

  21. Same guys who were initially complaining about the Demar-Kawhi trade (yes they existed) are out again in full force justifying not packaging RJ Barret for Lamelo Ball…The only reason I wouldn't do this is because of that massive contract.

  22. Then, you’re supposed to be a fan of the team not of an individual player. At the end of the day I just want once ever best for the Raptors hopefully our situation for himself.

  23. We need to give this current team one season to play together healthy. Unless the team severely underperforms at the beginning of next year, nobody should be traded until then

  24. Bro imagine Scottie lemelo and Ingram together starting thats buckets and everyone else we'll have around them that's a contending team I think

  25. Who fits better with the Raptors
    RJ
    Who is healthy
    RJ
Who’s playing his best game and has a great contract
    RJ
Not saying Lamelo is bad or anything, but we must keep RJ!
    Don’t trade RJ! Don’t trade RJ! 😤🇨🇦
