Payton Pritchard on CAREER HIGH 43 PTS in Celtics Win vs Blazers | Postgame 2-5

BOSTON — Payton Pritchard erupted for a career-high 43 points, drilling a career-best 10 three-pointers, to lead the short-handed Boston Celtics to a 128-118 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers. Derrick White added career highs with 41 points and nine threes, making history alongside Pritchard as the first Celtics duo to each score 40+ points in the same game and the first NBA duo ever to hit nine or more threes each in a game.

After the game, Pritchard reflected on his performance, emphasizing the team-first mentality:
“Tonight could have been Sam Hauser’s night and he hits 10 to 15 threes. D-White, that’s what he does. JB, he could have 50. I don’t go into any night thinking, ‘It’s my night.’ You read the game and the ball ended up finding me. Next game, the ball might not find me at all, but how am I going to impact the game? That could be with rebounds and assists. Obviously, if I get shots, I gotta be ready to hit them. But every night is a different look, so you just got to be prepared for it.”
