Grizzlies Coach’s Poor Awareness Costs Them Multiple Games

Grizzlies Coach’s Poor Awareness Costs Them Multiple Games

The Memphis Grizzlies achieved an impressed feat by losing 3 straight games on game-winning shots. While that looks like bad luck, there were some curious decisions Taylor Jenkins made in all 3 that really cost them these games. We go through them and walk through how it led to their downfall.

  1. Welcome to the Jenkins experience. This is what Grizzlies fans have dealt with for years, especially in the playoffs. He has a lack of feel for the game.
Ja wasn't the problem and Scottie Jr though pesky, players tend to shoot over him as he's so short. It was not subbing Wells in for Edey, leaving him on the bench while subbing Aldama in, and telling Vince to double-team. Jenkins made so many critical mistakes down the stretch of that NYK game.

  2. I always wonder if is really that braindead or if im just looking at an isolated moment (well, i literally am so thats the logical option).

  3. I was watching the Hawks game live shouting timeout repeatedly just before T-Rex got stripped by Daniels. 🤦🏼‍♂️

  4. Memphis Grizzlies play ball like they in a McDonald’s all-American tournament. I like a few of their players but they play like an AAU Team.

  5. Can you please do a breakdown of DeMar DeRozan failing to take charges? I've never seen someone fail to commit so much and pick up sloppy and unnecessary fouls. I swear I see it at least once per game 😤

  6. He better fix this. They still are the 4 seed and they have time to get back to what got them this far before this 4 game stint.

  7. What do you expect from a poverty franchise team that act like thugs. Good for them if im being honest.

  8. I mean, I guess, but are you going to be the one to tell Ja Morant to his face in a 1 point game that he's going to sit out? You don't think that would rub your star player, who's already shown volatility, the wrong way? Politics of managing a ballclub go deeper than strategies. Besides, Ja played good defense on that Anunoby 3 possession, as you pointed out, it was Vince Williams' poor double. The next game, Morant isn't on the floor for the Fox buzzer beater and they lose anyway. At some point the players on the court have to get stops for the coach.

  9. I’m glad you made this video I am a grizz fan and I been saying this all season we have a good team he just don’t know wen to play them

  10. 3 games ending like this in a row AT HOME is terrible. imagine some kid got gifted some tickets to these games for spring break and this is the outcome. obviously jenkins worries are not the fans and more getting wins, but nonetheless this is embarassing to fail 3x in a row at home.

  11. That Hawks one was on Bane too. He should've called for the switch with a better matchup and not attacked Daniels when another defender is one step away from help . I don't think a coach is needed to make an elite player see that. Great video btw.

  12. His rotations are terrible too .. look he’s a good developmental coach for upcoming players and young stars like Morant, JJJ, bane, GG etc.. but they are developed now and Jenkins knows nothing abt winning .. the grizzlies need a coach that can win not develop

  13. It is not poor awareness, it is fixed ! By substituting inexperience players to benefiting opponents opportunity 😊

  14. They started the shot clock before the Grizzlies actually had possession for that Knicks backcourt violation. Coach thought he had 2 more seconds and Ja was about to beat the press with 1 Knick laying on the floor.

  15. The game with the knicks didn’t make any sense to me. Speaking from the grizzlies perspective, ja guarding brunson 1 on 1 is what i want. Why are we doubling? Why are the perimeter defenders crashing down? It makes no sense
