Why don’t the Raptors Tank HARDER?

Why don’t the Raptors Tank HARDER?

The Raptors pull out the win against the Utah Jazz with Immanuel Quickley sealing the deal late with a pair of threes on a big night for the Raptors guard. But why did that happen? Why didn’t they try harder to tank?

  1. When they try to lose, y'all mad.

When they try to win, y'all still mad.

    What exactly do y'all want?

Let's be real, they can't out tank teams like the Jazz, Hornets and Wizards. They're completely pitiful franchises

  2. When we sit guys out and try to force our young guys into tough clutch situations, y'all say it's unethical. When we don't do that, y'all are confused and dont see the reason behind it. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. We are trying to get reps in tough game situations for these young guys who normally wouldn't get these reps. To me, sitting out your entire starting line up is more unethical.

  3. Because it's at the end of the season now we should tank. Do you really want Philly to get a better chance at a higher pick 😂

  4. Raptors are playing back-to-back. So, they can rest their players
I think most people jump to conclusion Raptor management never wanted to capture the flag.
Raptors knows they're too good. From day one I've been saying this 7, 8,9 pick is perfect with a chance of moving down. I see Raptors going 14-7 in last 21 game and they already won 2.
Raptors are looking at the young players, that's the main purpose.
They already started to invest in next season with Brandon Ingram. Now on the verge of adding a good draft pick. Thats the game Son.

  5. Im glad the tank talk hasnt messed with the guys heads. Love seeing competitive growth development and chemistry

  6. We're going to let the young guys lead us into the play-in.
During practice we practice hard, and Brandon gets his reps.

The regulars win the 2 play-in games.

Then in first round vs Cleveland, we debut the Carolina Reaper (Ingram).
The Cavs have absolutely no info on us. Maybe they use NBA 2k to simulate something. They don't know how to prepare.

We are the first round trap

The tank was a mirage, especially with this schuelde

  7. 7:01 – We're a first round Trojan Horse… How fitting would it be that we face the Cavs in the first round (who hurt IQ to open the season)
All of this, experimenting during games is just that, and practices are where it's really at, which includes Ingram.

The Cavs will see us moving up the standings, but they won't know how to prepare.

    Confuse everyone else.

  8. Their approach is obviously to tank. Not sure why people are thinking otherwise lol. They're currently tanking. Sometimes, even when tanking… there are even worse teams. It is what it is. We were winning this game regardless if Scottie or Quickley played.

  9. This win was entirely pointless, I mean all performances were useless. Can Quickley drop 34 against Celtics or Cavs? Ya right!
Raptors can even loose the games they are supposed to loose and the can’t beat any team worthwhile.
    Utterly useless franchise!

  10. Had to tank when the bench players are being developed so well and are doing a good job contributing. Also, most of the games remaining for the Raptors season, are against tanking teams.

  11. Low IQ organization. Yes they could have gone whole hog at home and then drop the road games. I think they tried with Orlando but failed. Some don’t understand you lose probability of a very good player or the ability to trade down to get two mid draft players.

  12. Your comments are perfectly reasonable Es. There was no reason to put IQ and Scottie back in with 5 minutes left in the fourth.

Maybe the league is not happy with blatantly resting the starters in the 4th? I can understand that. That's the only thing I can think of.

I would have felt much better if the 3rd stringers had won, or lost, the game on their own.

Otherwise, this was a sad win.

  13. Stupid as they need the better draft pick for two reasons. A significant talent bump for the future but also salary control for a few years is being under estimated. The window of affordability will get much tighter very shortly. If you can't afford the talent on your roster that doesn't equal championships, then what are you really?

  14. They literally can't tank any harder without bringing back Jontay Porter. I don't understand who and what people are mad about.

  15. It's almost impossible to lose to the Jazz….outside of Utah…Tanking will/should not be this hard!! The Raps like you said…either f….in try to win or Tank the right way!!!!

  16. Positioning yourself for a better pick…has to be the choice….!!! This Draft is not that good after those top 5/6 players….This could end up disastrous!

  17. U seem to be always confused… just going back and forth beating around the bush… u want reps, u want picks, u want play in, u want tank… wtf

  18. I’m confused about the goal here with the Raptors is it play in? Is it a high draft pick? Because we know it’s not for championship? So what is the end goal for this season? Make it make sense to me.

  19. Having lived through the Bryan Colangelo years and many of Masais the Raptors have been almost good enough but not quite. This time you had an opportunity to get out of the middle. You guys blew it. Welcome to the middle, "the next generation"

  20. The tank was ruined by the raptors winning too much to increase player value coming into the deadline, the front office lost focus if tanking was the plan

  21. Please don’t forget to like and subscribe to help grow the channel! Thank you!

    Also: bring Brandon Ingram back

  22. imagine if philly wins the lottery and the pick goes to okc, we should not be trying to tank, that is not a way to operate, we need to win games, fans want to see the best product on the court possible always. we can not be as bad as the 3 worst teams, and the difference between 5-15 in terms of percentage to win lottery is not a lot. we should win games. if we slide into the playoffs frame it as experience building, and if we end up with 14th pick, it really is not as bad as it sounds because potentially better scouting can make that pick as good as a 10th pick from another team that is less in tune with prospects. never tank is my vote. imagine though if we miss the playin by 1 game, quickley will be having nightmares about the foul against the bulls

  23. Going scorched earth makes absolutely no sense, that's simply a recipe to stay perma-bad if you don't luck into a generational talent like Wemby or Lebron, and then pray for health (eg. the Sixers thought they got theirs in Embiid). Instead, people should maybe realize that for the Raps to finish 7th worse while having a roster that will be competing for top 6 next season is an amazing situation, and also recognize the team went out and drafted/signed 5+ rookies to help execute that plan this season. The team is still 2nd in total rookie minutes played, that took effort and foresight.

  24. Competetive and "organic" growth will only take them so far.. There is no chance the Raps compete with this mediocre roster, even with Ingram. Raptors need to land a bonifide star in this years draft if they get back to contention asap.

  25. We can't really even consider it a tank so far since teams like philly and pheonix are also low in the standings and were expected for high seeding. We would have to play a 6'5 dude at center and pf to be truly tanking the season, we're gonna win games because we're going to play fast and push the pace. We can't help it if the other team wants to quit though we really could keep IQ out of the 2nd units. Unless we want to see more IQ at Sg which is totally fine and probably where he's best deployed.

  26. The raps have lost a lot of games because of injuries. Once they got healthier it was going to be hard to keep losing like that

  27. The Raptors are the dumbest team in the nba. Mid three at best and passing up high draft pick for WHAT? Dumb coach. FO lost control of their little pit bull

  28. I feel like IQ is overrated by raptors fans. He shouldn’t be our pg of the future. Honestly, Jamal Shead is better

    Let’s get Dylan Harper

  29. IQ is getting 32.5M not $35M. It is stated in Spotrac 162.5M/5 yrs guarantee income. The rest 12.5M is based on incentives. Majority if which are unlikely.
