It looks so effortless because he does so many little things so well, from picking unusual angles to attack, to snatching back away from the defender's running motion to a BUNCH of decelerations, to step backs, to step outs. He doesn't catch you with a lot of explosive crossovers or a flurry of dribbling combinations. It's more like death by a thousand cuts to the tune of 32 points per game.

Those 40 pt games impressive! But zero triple doubles (vs Jokic 29) and 5 double doubles (vs 49) gives you the true picture. A few pts advantage in pts/game doesn't come anywhere close to competing with that. 31/21/22 trumps 41 pts by a mile.
