Hawks vs. Pacers Postgame Press Conference: Trae Young
Trey it looked like you caught a knee in that third quarter you want to take us exactly through what happened in that injury yeah I mean you saw it uh I got I got a need um yeah I mean that’s that’s pretty much it man it’s it’s frustrating man just one basketball out there and three guys that that’s looking at at the basketball and don’t see a guy picking up full court you can’t stay in front of me without f full court oneon-one so it’s obvious play another turnover for me it’s all good we won so I’m glad I mean what did they how did they uh get you back ready to come out and be available to play for the rest of the game uh we did so many stretches in the back uh just so many different movements to see uh how I felt and if I wanted to go out there and uh give it a try and give it a go um they weren’t pressuring me or do anything but uh I was more frustrated um that was even in that situation and didn’t get a foul so I wanted to go out there and at least get the win and it was a a pretty chippy game throughout the night but you guys remained poised and you know were able to pull it off in the clutch just what was working for you guys whether it was Caris Sona um what was working everything everything uh we we uh didn’t get stops the way we wanted to um but offensively like we got to where we we needed to be spacing was great um Caris had an unbelievable game game again um it’s just it’s just everybody was playing aggressive Big O was rebounding playing defense getting some buckets on the other end and so it was it was good to see Dyson obviously doing what he does um defensive player of the year so um I mean it was great everybody kind of contributed to this win tonight hey Trey uh starting off with this season you were at the second lowest frequency of your shots coming from the mid-range but last couple games You’ can get into it a little bit more up to about 15% of your shots over the last five what’s been working for you in the mid-range you trying to sneak it back into your game how how that how’s that been yeah it’s uh it’s uh it’s something that um obviously if you listen to to coaches and people around the game a lot of people don’t really like it in today’s game they like threes and layups the the higher percentage of shots um but if you can shoot the mid-range at a high level I feel like it’s useful and uh I mean over the season I’ve been kind of thinking about obviously using it more because it is it is useful if it goes in uh especially at a high percentage so um yeah just trying to not not force my mid-range but if it gets there and I get a good look not not hesitate at all and uh I had a couple good mid-range Shots tonight I feel like that that went in and uh that’s definitely something I can expand I mean our game and um our offensive game for sure Trey you’ve had a couple of weeks to be get acclimated with your new teammates uh what’s it like playing with the uh new guys and uh what’s it like playing with Nang the shoot that he provides yeah I mean they all they all bring different things um to the to the game um it’s been fun playing with all three of the new guys uh Terence has been playing unbelievable uh Caris obviously what he’s done these last few games have been I mean great we’ve needed it um every bit of it um and then obviously George is a a spacer a shooter um and then a locker room guy when you when you’re around him uh he’s funny he’s somebody that keeps everybody spirit High and a lot of people don’t understand that I mean winning teams a lot of it comes from just Good Vibes too and just good energy and and not getting too high or too low any at any moment in the season so that’s something that he brings and that’s I mean I think why he’s one of the winningest players since he’s been in the league um everywhere he’s been he’s been on a winning team so that’s that’s a coment nominator that he has Trey I just wanted to ask you what was your reaction to se yakum going for that dunk at the end were you surprised that he went for that or yeah I was very surprised he’s very I mean obviously I’ve known him for a while I I see him in the summertime to me he’s a very smart player I feel like that just that that wasn’t a smart play and I think he knows that now looking back at it um but I mean he’s a hell of a player he played great both games against us and things like that he just made a I mean a like a it’s a a weird mistake at the end of the game but he’s he’s definitely a smart player he’s a great player he’s one of my good friends so uh yeah got you
