Josh Giddey is a poor man's Luka not Luka but a poor man's Luka they have some of the same strengths and weaknesses I would give him 24 mill per year and it wouldn't hurt the cap
I'm a massive giddey fan but will be interesting to see which side of giddey will be the normal. The pre all star break and post all star break stats are night and day and have seen a massive jump in scoring shooting and defence
You guys are forgetting his second year. He played with sga and he averaged 17/8/6 that year. He can play with another high scorer. He just needs the coaching permission to still take the reigns…
Giddey is not a star player. He isn't a star. But the Bulls are not looking for a star player. Arturas made it clear that he is seeking a team that is great due to the sum of all its parts. Giddey is perfect for that. There is no guy on the Bulls that will be a star player. But they are all relatively good players and that's what Arturas is hoping what will make a great team. But in the end Giddey is not a guy you're giving the ball too and saying take us to the promise land. Same with Coby. Same with Ayo. Same with Matas. Same with P Will. That is why the Bulls are not prioritizing a top pick in the draft because all they are seeking is another good player to add to the roster.
Giddy, I like. But here's my thing. I would keep him if he could be a player similar to ben Simmons. A point forward, but who can shoot.
If he can shoot, play defense, facilitate, rebound.
If he could do that, if he could play that point forward at small forward and ayo and coby in our backcourt and matas as the power forward I like that and then would resign him.
You do realise he is only turned 22 and is improving year on year besides last years drama year. He is only getting better lets see where he is when he is 26 to 30 when his body is in prime years.

I'll also say…Giddey will need to learn to play off ball better as well though. We won't be a champ contender if the ball is in Giddey's hands as much as it is now. We'll need to add more scoring and playmaking elsewhere, and he's going to need to be productive in that role too.
The truth is, Nikola Vucevic in 2024 is the best non ball dominant off ball scorer Giddey has ever played with. He's never had a team with stars or legit 20PPG guys who are not ball handlers or better with ball in hand and are wings or bigs. That's where he would thrive on a winning team, with all star big man and wings who do a lot of their damage without playmaking and initiating themselves. Imagine Giddey as the 3rd best player with Wemby and a guy like prime PG

If they dont resign him, they are out of their minds. He is only going to get better your reflections only suggested stagnation or regression for the most part. Just accept you got the man you need. A real leader knows when to share the ball, hence 12th in league for assists which again will only get better.
Giddy who’s not known for his defense has been contesting every shot, and even had a few blocks. I even think he’s been a lot creative in the paint and is shooting lights out from the three. I think in a month I have seen everything I can ask of Giddy, so yes he is a star.

Takes time to develop young players and what they need most is game time. However for many in Chicago this core, regardless of who they are and how they play will simply be too white
The Giddler has star potential at just 22. He is an elite passer and has even improved his 3 pt shot from when he was in OKC. Give him the keys to the offense along with Coby as our back court and see what they can do next season. Buzelis also has all star potential IMO. Cheers let’s try to make the playoffs while we’re on this 3 win streak and draft a good big pause.
Difference between shae and giddy with the ball in their hands is that Giddey is a pass first player and so others get involved and because of this keep motivated. Consider Melo – a 'star' but a terrible player.

No giddy isn't the star player the Bulls are waiting for. The star or superstar the Bulls are looking for is in this coming draft. Which according to yall analysis the Bulls making the playoffs and will draft middle of the pack as usual. And the Bulls will get another just okay player. But definitely not a superstar. This topic is a distraction from the real topic. The Bulls have no plans or any sense of a direction.

Josh has set a tone, and it feels like with the addition of Collins, Huerter and Jones, and the subtraction of Zach, the team can play with some levity. It’s like weight has been taken off the teams shoulders and the cloud that was hanging over the team is gone. No shade to Zach, but like yall are saying, he didn’t set the defensive intensity, but Josh is. The thing that makes me happy is seeing how well Coby and Josh have been getting along. That 3 against Miami by Josh showed great chemistry between the whole team.
The reason why giddey started playing badly last year revolved around his off court issues. He was okc second best player when he was confident. Same thing happened to Ben Simmons off court issues around his sister wrecked his career.
