When do you expect Kyrie Irving to play for the Mavs again?
If we still had Luka playing, he would be driving into the paint more than 50% of the game , sharing Kyries load, less chance of kyrie getting hurt. It was the usage of chance
These guys also play SOOO much basketball in practice and in the offseason, they’re doing runs constantly. The minutes do matter yes but not with the ACL injury IMO.
20/20 espn “24-25 mavs medical team” 😂
NICO doesn't understand aging because he has never worked a day in his life
Brian is the GOAT.
Luka is healthy. Go figure.
Davis had abdominal injury when Nico made the trade.
Klay went from ACL surgery & recovery to Achilles tear. Same with the Heat’s player Dru Smith. Came back from ACL surgery in 8 months & then his Achilles went 2 months later.
Kyrie should be take his time. Only come back carefully and fully healed so his last season or 2 he can really be himself
We’re all lucky Nick’s got the in with Brian Sutterer, friend of the pod
Refreshing and informative. Thanks!
Best locked on show. Am a laker fan. The kam bros are terrible compared to you
I need to stop watching this podcast.
Apparently I'm a Lakers fan now.
I've watched this podcast for so many years and I was so invested in this team….. until management decided to have the ultimate Indiana Jones moment and rip the beating heart out of a healthy and competitive franchise.
This really sucks but it's time for me to move on.
Thank you Locked On Mavs. So much love.
Hope that Nico Harrison, Miriam Adelson & Patrick Dumont have the worst of success both financially and personally.
This was NEVER a basketball decision.
Oh look the "internet doctor" that shills for the Mavs on Twitter ..dude is piece of shit online
Some of the fans were overeacting. Kyrie got hurt more when we had Luka.. Plus it was a freak accident
Everything this doctor is saying is kind of discouraging
The two I never thought I’d see talk together but I’m all for it. Love both channels
Great guest. I always learn a lot if he is on the show. For me this episode is a must listen.
Two statements can be true at the same time:
1. This injury was not caused by the minutes he played.
2. Mavs were running him in the ground. If it wasn't for this injured, he probably would have been injured rather sooner than later with another injury due to his unsustainable workload.
I find it distracting and incredibly annoying to hear a professional man use the question inflection after statements? I had to stop listening half way?
Were we really supposed to believe that Kyries injuries weren’t due to overuse?
I’m delighted that Brian is on the show to explain the injuries and clarify certain aspects, particularly the Kyrie injury. Many people, including yourself, were confused about how he got hurt and were blaming unrelated factors. It was unfortunate, as the doctor said.
Wait, so a doctor tell you guys something and you still say they wrong?😂😂😂 if y’all just mad just say that.. No need in trying make the world hate him(Nico) it’s nothing y’all can say to make him hated more than he already is
So LeBron got injured because he had to carry Luka right?????? Lebron usage in the last 2 months was up there with Kyrie.. I see no one blaming JJ for playing Lebron too much… Dodnt they say playing with Luka will have him playing longer? They okayed 12 games then LeBron get injured , go figure
Dr. Sutterer the GOATTTT
This has turned to medical channel. No complaints though.
you could just name it "the AD Strain." Good insight into how NBA tries to cover up injuries. In other words Lively has a broken ankle.
Mavs should hire Dr. Brian Sutterer as part of their medical staff.
I hate that I found you guys during/after the Luka mess. Love the content. Love the game analysis, love the theory crafting on the days off. 10/10 content. I’m subscribed. But I just find it so hard to care about the mavericks. A big thing for me is I just don’t care about the guys on our team. It feels like one of the failed old head big 3’s put together the last 4-5 years. Not excited for the present, not excited for the future. Hope you guys continue to grow but idk how much more Mavs content I will be interested in
Meanwhile the Lakers will be going on a losing streak with Luka. Shout out to Luka for proving that Nico was right about him by getting exposed by the Celtics and the Nets.
Doctor is obviously on the Mavs payroll.
Disclaimer, I enjoy your content but 0:34 gave me chills of the douche variety. Please don't.
Insightful episode. Hoping for a miracle on Kyrie’s recovery. Hopefully we see him sometime next season.🙏
We’re cooked chat 😂😂 power foward AD leading the mavs in 2025-2026
Let it ride 😎
This is the Doctor Who correctly identified not only KP‘s injury in the playoffs, but where he actually got it which wasn’t where anyone else thought he did. He showed an instant replay during a free-throw where Lively leaned into him and his knee gave slightly which put extra stress on his lower calf. You could see it in real time how he was injured and it all made sense but I didn’t see anyone else show the same play from the game.
🦝
Casey Smith should chime in. I bet he doesn’t let the trade go through and puts minute restrictions on some of these guys. As for Kyrie – if it wasn’t his knee – I bet his back goes out with that heavy load.
I don't blame the minutes usage. I blame the curse. AD, Gafford, Lively, PJ, Williams, all victims of the curse.
If they never traded Luka he wouldn't have gotten hurt based on Kidd's rotation
I don’t think there are many cases of ACL injury recoveries taking as little as six months in European soccer. You always hear that players can get back well before the season ends if they get an ACL tear at the start of the season in August. But then the player returns for, at most, a couple of games in May or at the absolute earliest in April.
Brian is always great to break down injuries. Great discussion and he surely is the bringer of bad news that you hope never have a player on your favorite team in the thumbnail. But he is the go to guy when something unfortunate happens.
As a former collegiate basketball bench rider that tore his ACL, I can confirm that it has nothing to do with overuse 😂. A random jump stop in a practice scrimmage with a little contact from the defender, a weird landing angle and that bad boy was toast. If it’s any solace, I was playing at 100% about 10 months after surgery (20 years old.) There was a mental thing where I wasn’t confident in it for a few months, but this isn’t an injury that will actually slow you down once healed. Granted I wasn’t the same shifty type of player, but I did rely heavily on vertical leap and hard cuts. Lateral movement is what this affects the most, unfortunately. It’s the ligament that lets your knee twist a bit but not too much… I want to say there was an NFL quarterback that elected not to repair his ACL and still played
So basically the Lakers were lying about the injury. How did Luka and AD pass a physical but the player the center the lakers wanted from Charlotte didn’t? Doesn’t make sense
Shouldn’t he have had to pass a physical?
