Just waiting for NBC and Amazon broadcast NBA games on their networks. I’m rooting for both of them to do better with their coverage and ESPN who are adding TNT Inside the NBA to be completely worse.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are f’ing exciting. Donovan Mitchell is a superstar. He’s surpassed Jordan in ppg vs Boston btw. He’s a great dunker and fun to watch operate on offense. A leader. They shoot 3’s like the 73 win Warriors. Mobley is on his way to becoming a top 10 player in the league. Ty Jerome anyone?! If that name doesn’t mean anything to you, you haven’t seen this dude play basketball this season. Darius Garland is having an incredible season. Doing it all. The team moves the ball like crazy. It is FUN to watch. This is not the Spurs dynasty. It’s not the Billups/Hamilton/Wallace Pistons. This is a balanced deep team led by a superstar and they can win in a variety of ways. They can win a defensive slog, they can win a fast pace game, or one making 25 3 pointers.
The way DP is talking… just seems like he’s talking about a team he hasn’t watched a lot of this year. “If you want highlights Mitchell isn’t your guy”. That’s a silly thing to say.
An incredible regular season run we are watching right now. And it’s anything but unexciting.
Basketball in its essence is a team game involving moving the ball around until it enters the basket. It is interesting to see skilled dribbling or one person overrunning his opponents but in its essence it is 5 people exchanging the ball and this is not only sport; it is visual beauty and pleasure for its own sake That is why it is the only sport I enjoy and watch; when you play beautiful team baskeyball you honor the sport and that is also what winning at basketball means
