Are the Miami Heat ACTUALLY TANKING? | 305 Guys

The Miami Heat continue to struggle mightily. Are they actually TANKING, despite that not being in their DNA? What will the Heat’s draft position look like this summer? Hosts Ethan Skolnick and Alex Donno break it all down.

  1. Ethan you are such an idiot. How can you be bad at taking. What all it takes is to lose you dummy. You just sound so simple mind when you say that they are bad at it. Will at the end of the day. Eric is just a bad coach right now

  2. They are tanking but gotta avoid the fine. The players who are up for contract aint tanking. But Spo is sabotaging. Lets be clear they are .500 bad for sure. Not a very talented team. But they are not Portland or Charlotte bad.

  3. Valuing these pick protections over potentially high lottery pick players, one that could, for once, be a real franchise player is absolutely idiotic.

I hate listening to this utter foolishness about the pick protections. We don’t tank, so what are we planning on being a lottery team next year? Is that why we need the pick next year over getting an awesome rookie this year? Are we planning to suck in 2027 and worried about Charlotte getting our lottery pick that year?

If we have 2 FRPs, one of which can end up being a top 4 pick…is that going to make us worse next year? It’s having higher quality trade assets worse?

Tell me how these pick protections are going to help us concretely? Someone, please. One good reason why a pick protection is better than your best shot since getting Dwyane Wade at getting another Dwyane Wade…anyone.

Are we scared of Atlanta next year? Chicago? Orlando? So scared that we can’t get in the playoffs next year with a better Ware, better Jovic, a full offseason and training camp with Wiggins, Mitchell, Slo Mo? That’s the scenario where we should want that pick next year instead of this year.

It’s patently crazy, and just makes me realize how silly the people running things are.

We were lucky enough to stink in a year where our pick is protected. Why even bother putting protections on if we aren’t going to be grateful for it? It’s literally the only silver lining on this season and we’re actively running from it. Crazy.

  4. That's why I like Jimmy Butler he was our missing link the team we have now is way better than the team we had last year, with Butler, cause of all the screw-ups they make, Butler straightened it out, next thing you know we win games 🎯 another thing Kevin Durant is older than Butler why would you want to get him more money than Butler 🤔

  5. The pick this year is lottery protected.
Miami is currently picking 10 or 11.

    Plus, the Golden State pick.

    2 first round picks.

We found the formula vs the Magic.
Bam, Ware, Jovic, Herro and Duncan.
Spo dropped that lineup with the quickness…

  6. They are soft tanking. Coach Spo has been playing the worst player major 4th qtr minutes consistently

  7. Worrying about a top pick next year is crazy.
Means we think we'll be terrible next year. 2 straight years of terrible basketball?

    Crazy.

  8. We tanking so good even fooled these guys. Heat fans are so bad we’re quick to say we’re sh*t & completely dismiss any possibility that we’re tanking. Like we’re going to make it obvious.

  9. Sometimes “doing your best as an organization” requires tanking—or, call it emphasizing future growth over (irrelevant) present results. Heat exceptionalism only existed in the past decade because damaged goods Jimmy Butler rescued an aimless post-LeBron team from an endless stream of Hassan Whitesides and Justice Winslows. Miami has failed to attract or trade for a single bonafide star since. Maybe time to be less precious and try drafting one. Bam and Herro are both #3s at best on contenders.
