It's not fair to Kevin Durant to blame all of Phoenix's problems on him. He's not the problem. He's been very efficient this season for Phoenix in terms of his shooting and his defense has been solid too.

Suns finally get their rookies in and suddenly a double digit win.

Suns race out to a 19-point lead on excellent shooting, especially from Tyus Jones. Then they grew complacent, as they have in other games this season when they held and early lead. They start playing with their heads rather than their hearts. Kings sensed this, and attacked the paint, with Keon Ellis, Malik Monk, and Sabonis, whittling the lead all the way down to 2. Bud turns to his standout rookies, Iggy and Dunn, and Colin Gillespie. The three of them – fighting for minutes – brought enough passion back into the Suns side to take the lead back to 5 at halftime. Bud relied on them throughout the second half also. They took a lot of pressure off the big three, who worked together to push the lead back to 20+ and maintain separation, despite some amazing late game shotmaking from DeMar DeRozan and Zach Levine. The decision by Bud to turn to his young guys won this game.
