  1. This has always been the case. Load management is a result of teams’ front offices and training staffs determining when to hold players out. It’s not the players decision like most people falsely think.

  2. Marvin is right, Wizards have not won 50 games since 1979 and have only one division title since that year when they lost in the NBA Finals to the Sonics.

  3. When Lauri plays, they win 21% of their games. When he sits, they've been much better (35%). It's an interesting plan.

Edit: It's actually a 26 percent win percentage w/o him on the court…but the point is they stink either way, but playing him seems to get you 6% closer to that #1 pick

  4. Last night the Raptors played the 76ers. Between injured players and / or players being sat out to improve the teams draft position the game was a farce. Sadly the price of tickets was not reimbursed to the fan . Paying full price and feeling ripped off is not how you build your customer base .

  5. The solution is ALL teams in the lottery have the same odds. So you make the playoffs, or you're in the lottery. And everyone in the lottery has the same 1/14 chance. It doesn't matter if you have 15 wins or 30, you're a lottery team.

  6. Yet, Paul George sits out multiple games with a “sore pinky” 🙄 they should’ve just said he jammed a finger. By today’s injury standards, he’s be out two weeks. 😂

  7. Let's be honest. The jazz need all the help they can get.
And he only got an all star selection because the all star game was in utah 3 years ago

  8. Almost every good to great player on a non playoff team, would gladly sit as many games. If you can sit out a season or two over a career, that's just another contract at the end of your career. Hey sit 8-10 games a year, when we're losing and grab another 50 million in your twilight.

  9. 100K is 0.0001% of 1 Billion. I make about 60K a year so that 0.0001% fine would be like fining me 6 bucks.

If the NBA wants to get serious about Anti-Tanking fines they need to take away draft picks. Financial penalties this low are very superficial and outright annoying. Who do they think they are fooling?? Are they trying to pretend like they are against tanking? Sort of like their half ass anti-flopping fines that seem to have disappeared the last year or so?

  10. Adam Silver should be blamed for this nonsense draft of a thing. For me, all 30 teams should have that chance of number 1 pick so that it can stop the tanking thing

  11. The Spurs are tanking as we speak. The league is a joke. How can any organization expect fans to attend games when this is going on?

  12. Same hapoening to tyrese maxey. They hold him out. And in lose my money if espn fantasy cause he dont Play since 2 weeks

  13. Jazz have never been a "bad" team until Ainge took over and actually followed the blueprint to improve the likelihood of bringing talent to a small market team. Most fans don't understand it at all, because this is a new approach we haven't seen in 40 years.

  14. How long is it ok for Ainge to tank entire seasons before they start to compete again? Utah hasn’t even tried since 2022 when they traded Mitchell and goebert. This is the third consecutive season of not competing. Another two seasons? Three seasons? Why would anyone buy season tickets for that?

  15. They’re pulling off a brilliant move. Have a star player who’s on board with staying with Utah while they build, after 2 seasons of tanking (this & next) they potentially become a playoff team the next because of who is on their roster currently & take a big jump the next year.

  16. Considering Utah is way out of the playoffs, I don’t see a problem with sitting your starters and giving your second and 3rd units some run. That gives them NBA experience and might help decide who you want to keep next year. Maybe during the first and middle half of the season, I can see fining teams, but with 20 games or fewer left, let the team decide who they want to play. It makes no sense to keep playing your star players when there is nothing to play for

  17. This entire commentary sounds more like a evaluation of the star power level of Markkanen. If this was LeBron, would Dan be pontificating like this?

  18. I think he probably had a back injury that kept him out for a few games and then they just decided to continue to keep him out even after he was healthy

  19. Inconsistent policy enforcement is what this looks like. So many other teams have been practicing load management, or following the process and have had no punishment.

  20. You make a lot of stupid assumptions that you can't back up. What a jerk you are. Get your facts from the source instead of from your imagination.

  21. this is nonsense. Forcing someone to play with an injury, especially a back injury, is stupid and dangerous. Big mouth Dan makes no sense
