Is This The Toronto Raptors’ Center of the Future?
Is This The Toronto Raptors’ Center of the Future?
Taking a look at Michigan’s Danny Wolf and his potential fit with the Raptors in this year’s draft, as well as examining the 126-118 victory over the Utah Jazz.
To me the defense comes down to is it an IQ problem? Energy issue? Athleticism? In cases like james wiseman where its an IQ issue is probably the worst. But if hes tired from the offensive load that wont be as bad
Danny wolf is projected to go #20 in draft, he's a 60% free throw line, he turns ball over 3.9 turnovers per 36 minutes per game, & under average 3 point shooter @ 35% i still like #RasheerFleming# better, i would pick a stretch big in 2nd round 6 foot 11 #BogoljubMarkovic# 39.3% 3 point shooter, 78% free throws, Darko will call out plays in Serbian to Marković stretch big.
Maybe we should start looking at trading down in this draft cause between 7th to 19 there are a bunch of players that might be more attractive to the Raptors but are less valued by other teams and vise versa.
Absolutely have been loving these in-depth scouting mocks
Coming off an absolutely incredible raptors 2nd round rookie selections last year Might there be any noise about you maybe making a “Top 5 Best 2nd round prospects for the raptors in 2025”
Using our 2nd round Portland pick Which looks to be around the 40th pick
I don't know if its just the homer vibes in me, but I would love to see at least 2 of these guys become solid rotation players in a good Raps team of the future. Definitely Castleton, and for some reason I like Rhoden, he's just interesting. I sometimes confuse him for Scottie Barnes on the court, although he ends up doing non-Scottie Barnes things and I realize who it is lol. I kind of like Lawson as 2-way X-factor, but as the 9th/10th man in the rotation. Just having fun with it here really, tryina make some value out of this experience of the season, but a man can dream. I have confidence in Scottie Barnes to make a big leap with Brandon Ingram at his side to push him. I think the organization values building the foundations of winning above all else, and plan to lean fully into what's worked for them before, its just taking time to maneuver the new landscapes with intent. Barrett is lowkey my favourite player becuz he plays on 2K the same way he does at his best in real life and its fun when you get the hang of it, I've had multiple 40pt games with him lol.
Great vid! Also I believe showcasing great players down to the end of the rotation is a great advertisement for young winning-oriented players who aspire to become the best version of themselves. I think the tank is still not going how they plan it, but I'm seeing a lot of potential win-wins in all of this because they're ready to make really big plays knowing the company money's behind them in going for a deliberate championship build once they get that moment.
As well, Danny Wolf has probably been the most interesting player you've presented in relation to the Raptors future so far imo. I never really thought about how rare star focal point offensive 5s are these days. Interesting things to consider there. If he could somehow get good at defence, maybe you have a sort of Chet Holmgren vibe going on. I could be off base there though, I'm not too familiar with his game.
btw thanks for the videos man, I watch every one of these and they're always interesting and engaging, even my mom watches sometimes and gets interested in the team watching them from afar. I also like the "clean" feeling of not having your content as part of a late night post-game internet bender content feed 😛 I can be a normal person for a bit knowing that there's some interesting Raptors content coming down the line.
This one is a "Hail Mary". Talk about inspector Gadget "reach" Member not to draft for fit. Not good at all. This is a talented draft and a serious one. Raptors don't have time to play around, the dolly house stuff is done. Its Lastman standing Rasheer Flemmings is a way better fit, this guy is the best virgin of Antonio Davis Queen is better etc. If RJ can't get away with the defense, we don't want anyone that can't play defense.
His a great player very fast for a 7 footwr PF/C. With the top 2 current teams in the NBA with two 7 footers on their lineup im pretty sure the Raptors could use another 7 footer along with Jakob.
Can you also make a video of Dawson Garcia? He's a projected around a 2nd round pick and could also go undrafted
Love the Charmander evolution line reference. Good video, and I feel if the Raptors are to make another surprise draft pick selection, it would be Wolf.
This might be tough to find tape outside of high school but Carter Bryant (Arizona) seems like a good target for the Raps outside of the top 10. Feels like a Bilal Coulibaly-esque swing for the Raps.
As I mentioned in previous videos, I tremendously enjoy your in depth videos. Looking back at your previous video about the evaluation of Darko and combining it with this video, I have a few comments. Darko loves to incorporate a switch heavy scheme and with smaller players like IQ, Ochai, Ja'Kobe, Shead, teams with size will take advantage of that which also results in bad defensive rebounding (if Scottie and Jak) are not on the floor or if the switch has Jak at the perimeter. We need size therefore someone like Wolf would help in defensive rebounding, second chance points have hurt us for years now. I believe taking the pressure off Scottie and Jak for defensive rebounding and adding a third option would help. Next Darko wants to see the benchmark of (30) assists per game so players like Wolf in being a second playmaker would be beneficial for our team. Good sir, what really interests me is when Ingram finally plays and how he will incorporate his game into the scheme of Darko sharing the ball rather than isolation. I believe since we dont have a top 5 player since Kawhi, playing Darko's schemes of assists works but if you have someone like Ingram on the floor with his high usage % and iso plays in the mid range, will everything pan out? But yes, going back to this video, we need another good C to back up Jak, we cant afford to be on pins and needles next year hoping Jak will stay healthy and play 40 minutes to win games with our goal to make the playoffs.

I love Danny wolf! But I don’t think he’s a lottery pick
This is a really good chance and Great Pick !
Danny W is cool but unless we trade swapping the 9-10th pick for 2 of Nets picks I would dislike him at lottery value.
Brother, pick whoever you want to feature.
Keep bringing the clear analysis.
If you notice the raptor media is talking about the wrong things. Chev even took the angle of being hard on scottie, 'for his own good'. Bruh
Youre on point.
Toronto Inapts { lose bad when you want to win / win when you want to tank }. Entering laughing stock territory!
What do you think of Ryan Kalkbrenner?
Sounds like a decent upside pick.

Centre. Please use Canadian spelling while we are under threat of annexation like Ukraine.

Danny Wolf is a beast!… He needs to play power forward… With Boucher at centre… Dynamic duo…
