Malone never makes in game adjustments. Refuses to start Zeke instead of Russ. Doesn't let Pickett set up the offense, but lets Jamal dribble the air out of the ball just to get a crappy shot or hand off a grenade to a teammate. If Jok wasn't an all-time great MM would have already been fired.
It's unfortunate, but I have always thought that MPJ would turn into good defender if not outright great. For his height, he is really fast, I am really struggling to see why he is not more imposing defender, akin to Aaron Gordon. That way even if his shot is not falling he would be real asset.
He does grab rebounds here and there, but man I think he should be much better defender.

I'm a die hard nuggets fan and what I'm seeing is plain pathetic from the nuggets. 6TH straight win for the minnesota, we lose at home often and lose to playoff teams every single time, its just a pathetic season so far compared to what we have done. I'm done watching these no nuts nuggets this year, I doubt I'll watch the playoffs, obviously its going to be disappointing and predictive. There's no urgency in their step, no confidence in their takes and shot, second in the west and were not going to make it past the first round, NUGGETS ARE PATHETIC!!!!!!!!

Gordon being out is a huge hole in this team defensively and offensively.
Denver needs to figure out how to play defense with Jokic on the floor, because every team is running layups going directly at Jokic, being fully aware that IF he tries to lift a finger, the refs will automatically, right away, blow a whistle, and therefore put him in foul trouble early.
The surrounding staff around Jokic is fine ( Murray, Westbrook,Gordon,Porter Jr.)except they have not been able to string a dozen games this season as a complete team , since there is always someone on the bench injured at some point.
Finally, I would pay more attention at the three point line, and play zone, rather than man-on-man coverage.This way, if they blow by the designated defender and plant a layup, that's fine, because basically you are forcing the other team to trade three' s for two' s ( that way Thunder and others cannot score 140 pts., or more).Finally.for the playoffs, I would rotate Jokic of the floor and put DJ on to play D- FENCE every time Nuggets are up by more than 10 pts.( this, of course would be a playoff strategy, not during the regular season.Finally, if the opposite team is targeting Jokic, hacking at him and obstructing
his movement, I would bring off the bencha guy( let's say Zeke Naji) to FRUSTRATE THEIR HIGHEST SCORER.Dirty? Well , maybe, but the moral victory is in that you do not start that tactic first.

Denver Nuggets front office is taking Jokic for granted. I understand that mortgaging the future to win championships now may not be a sound decision, but when you have a legit top 10 of all time generational player you need to throw all your chips in there. Coaches and managers in Europe are ruthless towards such players and so they put them in order or give them a hand and send them on.
