Gilbert Arenas and the Gil’s Arena crew make JOKES about the Dallas Mavericks and how they are handling the post Luka trade debacle. There were reports that they wanted to build a new casino in Dallas. And move the Mavericks to Las Vegas for a new NBA team. They didn’t want to win in Dallas and were sabotaging themselves. Nico is being asked to be fired and the owners are moving the team out. So they are building a Hookah Luka Lounge to attract him back home. These owners come in and trade away one of the best players in the franchises history because they have to pay him too much. And now their goal is to build a casino and make more money. By admitting the trade is a scandal, u are placing an asterisk by the Lakers success. Which is fine, at least some Lakers fans can admit the truth even though they can't win without NBA brass cheating on their behalf. It's not exactly out there to believe that pro sports would be ruthless to move to the Vegas market. We see it happening. This move seems particularly stupid given DFW is the number 4 market but there was no way TX was ever going to allow casinos. They tried, they hired lobbyists. Getting rid of Luka seems like an act of war to leave Dallas.
Just because the ownership is dumb and doesn’t know basketball doesn’t mean they will move the team to Vegas to build another casino in a city that they already have a market in and is over saturated with casino along with the fact that travel and spending is at a decline for Vegas when they can be on the forefront off gambling whenever it’s made legal in Texas they can capitalize on a new market with no competition
