Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki on the Luka Doncic trade:
“I don’t think he has much influence anymore. He sold the majority of the Mavericks over a year ago—more than 50%. Now he’s just a minority owner. I think he still owns a little under 30%, but I doubt he has any real decision-making power anymore. Right after the trade, he said that he had no idea it was happening. And I believe him. We all should. He was always Luka’s number-one fan. He even made a statement once that he would never trade Luka. So it would really surprise me if he had suddenly changed his mind. That’s why I truly believe he had no say in this decision. I think Nico (Harrison) and the new owner pulled this off without involving him at all—or anyone else, for that matter. Of course, that’s tough for Mark. But when you sell the majority of your team, you have to expect that you won’t have control anymore. That’s just how it works. And over the past year, you could already see the team heading in a different direction. Now we’re seeing the result of that.”

Yes, I'm over the trade. I am sick of the whining. And most of the "News" we knew within 72 hours of the trade. But people like You like the clickbait.
Very frustrated to the point I don't watch live games. I may watch the highlights on YouTube and am more interested in Lakers highlights which sickens me further. The Mavs can only do one thing to fix or at least one great idea to fix the situation: Bring Cuban back. I would have some confidence he could lessen the pain and anguish. I also think trading AD for a package is needed.

I started following the Mavs 96-97 Season from afar. Was Rodman living on Cuban's property then? I no longer can put up with this farce of ownership and their two faced attitudes toward Luka. I watch Sports and get behind a an organization that means something. This is a joke and meaningless experience propped up on Greed, stupidity and even Cuban I now question. America itself along with all wealthy are turning their backs on the human experience and dogs would growl and resist such despicable traitors or should I say traders! I like one player's comment(or was it a stand-up comic?) I forget who comparing the trade deadline to slavery. I cheer for NBA REAL competition like in that Magic/Cavs game Sunday.
My frustration is -50 since I no longer follow them. No team to dedicate my enthusiasm to since this ongoing debacle.

How long a Mavs fan? From Luka getting drafted to confirmation of The Trade. It was more rooting for the Mavs. Now rooting for the Lakers. Never say never. Feel bad for real Mavs fans and for Luka. They ripped you guys apart. I thought they had a damn competitive roster. Klay, not a good move. Took Grimes minutes. I hope Luka can fall in love with a fan base again. Fan since Ro Blackman was getting buckets. I remember when we lost to the Lakers in 88 WCF. Aguire, Dantley, Schrempf, Perkins, Alex English, Ceballos, Van Exel, Najera, Jamison, J Terry …. thats tough. Ballers. I had a Fat Lever jersey. Mashburn was one of my all-time favorite Mavs. I got over it when we lost J Kidd, Steve Nash, Mike Finley, etc. … I was pissed how Jim Jackson left, how Tarpley couldnt stay on the court, how Josh Howard couldnt either…. But this is different. After Luka got traded, I realized our championship aspirations that everybody had at the beginning of the season, are done. Then Kyrie goes down and it felt like I got fired from my job and my car broke down on the same day. Im still MFFL…. but I have to take a break on the unwaivering support Ive given for 40+ years. I need to heal. Im trying to brace myself for when I find out who is leaving (or getting traded) after the season. Then, I will start it back up once again next year with championship aspirations. Btw, we need a new GM.

I became a Mavs fan when Luka got 63 and won in the final seconds off his own rebound a fee years ago. I restarted watching basketball after stopping in the 90s. I started to love all the Mavs. Luka made them great. Since the trade, Mavs are just a terribly owned and managed team.
