Bill at his best! No one else in media has this conversation.
Open Floor was the og Ben Golliver/Andrew Sharp SI podcast. Where my current Goat listeners at? 👀 🐐
Please do not destroy this team!! Go Celtics!!!
It's an iconic franchise, but the NBA viewership numbers over the past 5 yrs look grim. 6.1 billion is a lot of cheddar.
Jrue holiday will be a Rocket
Hey Bill. its BILLION. Not Million.
Will they follow the Dallas trend and trade away their star player?
This reminds me of the LA Rams owner mad at Warren Beatty, in the film “Heaven Can Wait”. Owner: “that SOB, he took my team, he took my team!” (What did he do?) “I told him $67 million and he said, OK!” Heartless people agreeing to overpriced things…
Won dynasties ? Wth it's 1 championship . How low have the Celtics fallen ?
The Seaport didn't EXIST when these guys were younger.
Billionaires should not exist.
I’m scared it’s all downhill from here for the Celtics. The new owner comes in and runs the team into the ground like the Mavs
Luxury Tax be damned is still gold for me. As a Celtics fan that’s all you want to hear. If the new guy wants to make a profit he’s going to gut the team. As a Celtics fan that’s the last thing you want to hear.
Dirk Nowitzki’s 2011 Championship with the Mavericks is more impressive and more valuable than both of the Celtics championships in the past 25 years combined. You know I’m right
Lakers would sell for $8 billz!
Bro looks ghostly
Surely this day will be remembered fondly as bill enters the last 20 years of his life
Bills pissed no one asked him
I notice Adam Silver isn't offended by the term "owner" when 6.1 billion dollars is involved
the wokeness get forgotten quick
what about Bezos you clown?
Celtics might trade jaylen brown lol
They are talking like other teams can't wait to help us get out of that 500m tax? Why would they ? Unless it benefits them?
So if we part ways with players it s not him first etc
It s: who might draw interest or what cost are we ready to pay to interest someone to take on that contract?
The only thing we control is players reaching free agency. You can let them walk.
But players under contract we need to find an other franchise to talk to. And we might find it dearer than keeping the core.
So we must stop acting like other franchises are dying to get the players we d like gone first.
Let’s hope the new owner is going to be Dumont 2.0 😂
Hopefully Celtics just got a passionate owner/fan not afraid to throw $ at proven allstar free agents, like Mat Ishbia.
BIG AL is retiring in BOSTON Celtics are hanging #42 in the rafters you best believe it!! He shall retire as a back to back NCAA & back to back NBA "DUAL" Champion!!! Caribbean Water is strong babe!!
New owner syndrome says that Tatum will be traded for Zion because they question Tatum’s availability moving forward.
Bill Simmons cannot go 1 Celtic Video, without a Mention of Trading Jaylen Brown. I mean These “ Boston “ Guys have a Real Hate for a Rich, Educated, and Socio-Politically-Active, Black Athlete, who has been Critical of The Racism that STILL Exists in Boston. Bill Simmons and that Jeff “ Sergeant Slaughter-Jaw “ Goodman, have been Two Media Guys, from “ The Tribe “, constantly bringing-up, The Trade Jaylen Brown Narrative.
Private equity owns sports teams now. Just wait for all of the money grabbing shenanigans that ensue. This is strictly an investment for them.
Why does it feel as if the Celtics get sold every other year now?
Brad Stevens should own this team
The only guy maybe as mad as Pagliuca has to be Glen Taylor selling a team for less than 1B.
