Always thought Scheyer seemed a little boring and stiff and hesitant, but seeing him talk…I get some crazy eyes, twitchy lip vibes. K always seemed like he was successfully quelling the urge to kill your whole family because you were late on a screen, but Scheyer seems like he might kill your whole family simply to transform you mentally and emotionally into a soulless basketball killing machine. K might talk about the privilege of having high level opportunities. Scheyer might talk about the privilege of having food and shelter…then his eyes go dark, he stares into your soul and says, "You know, all this could go away tomorrow" before laughing maniacally until the assistant coaches drag him to the training room.
I'll admit, I was skeptical, but Scheyer has won me over. I thought that Collins should have been the successor, and I realize that I was wrong. Jon's not the best coach that we could have gotten but he is the best coach within the Duke family that we could have gotten. Very happy to see his growth.
