Why is “who is the second best team” conversation only happening when the Rockets are in the 2nd seed? I’ve seen Memphis, Denver and Lakers have the second spot and there is never that conversation when they are in 2nd but the Rockets have had the spot for most of the Season. STOP WITH THE DISRESPECT ALREADY. If there was a second best team other than the Rockets they would have the 2nd spot. Stop it!
In my mind the Rockets are a low ceiling high floor type of team. Perfect for grinding out wins in the regular season but not talented enough to truly challenge teams with higher ceilings. They play hard and play D which gives them a shot against anybody, but in the end teams with more talent and particularly very good teams with true superstars almost always come out on top in a playoff setting. Put a true superstar on that team with a few roster tweaks and now you're talking legit contender.
