Rick Welts is talking through his hat as my Mom used to say. 1. He'll be nearly 80 years old in 2031 when the current lease runs out. 2. Texas will not legalize gambling in the time frame needed to make this real estate play (to Dumont/Adelson that's what the Mavs are). 3. My bet is Welts has been told to plan the arena/casino/hotel/resort complex for Las Vegas and do it now. 4. Vegas has NFL, NHL, WNBA and soon the Oakland Athletic will be there also. The NBA wants in and Dumont/Adelson is likely to move the Mavs there since NBA expansion is not on the horizon according to Adam Silver in December. 5 Dallas gets an expansion team someday.
The casino owners gutted the mavs and it will be years before they will be a serious threat. They bet it all on casino gambling in texas. They will need big bucks to out spend the casinos in Oklahoma and Louisiana that are supported by texans. Texas' corrupt politicians dont come cheap. Just ask big oil😮😮😮.

Looking forward to many more Mav's loses. I had 44 good years of watching the Mav's but now they are my worst hated sports team in the world. I laugh at every loss and every injury. We won't have to wait to long before AD goes down again and that is awesome. The Mav's now have the worst owner, the worst GM and the worst coach in the league.

Mavs have 3 days off when they play the lakers and the Lakers play OKC the night before. Hopefully Luka will be playing.
Not that I think the world is gonna die in 7 years. But the amount of pollution of tearing down a arena and also building one is a incredibly huge carbon footprint.
I just mention it cause I never ever hear it mentioned. I've heard hundreds of stories about plastic straws before. But not once about this ongoing….ecological disaster(I have to put it on the level with straws at least).
AAC is good and could probably easily go 30 more years. It's not like it's the old Texas Stadium where it looked outdated. It's still a modern look. (only thing stupid was putting those two buildings in front of the entrance that not only blocks the nice view of it, but absolutely makes each look out of place).
I enjoyed watching Dallas for years. Don't care anymore. 😮
