As for the coaches taking advice from players, I don't necessarily think it's the time that changed, I think NBA coaches have no power on star players, (I include Jamal and even MPJ), and the young players see that the veterans don't give a sh*t about the coach and learn from that. But if a player like Jokic comes to them and tell it to you straight, they'd listen.

Malone didn't play Peyton last year in the playoffs. The Nuggets are poorly coached. Malone is going to give Westbrook too many minutes. It'll be a festival of missed shots, silly turnovers, and misfiring defensive gambles. Pickett should be the first guard off the bench. But he won't be. The Nuggets will get bounced in the second round–again. Malone will be fired and Murray will be traded, and maybe MPJ, too.
