They were not going anywhere in the playoffs anyway. Whether Taylor was there or not, the way the team is currently constructed and with the injuries they were going no further than the second round at most.
Him and Ja don’t get along, they don’t beat anyone good, injuries, and Taylor brought in a whole new coaching staff this past offseason so he saw the writing on the wall then.

The decision makes a lot of sense, I’m a grizzlies fan from Memphis . Although they’re almost in the playoffs the teams play was getting stagnant . They didn’t need Ja or the other injured players to win , the coaching needed to change . Even though were going to the playoffs that didnt mean we were going far this year
