I’ve NEVER Seen A Coach Get Fired Like This…

The Memphis Grizzlies have FIRED head coach Taylor Jenkins… with a 44-29 record, one of the best in the West, with Ja Morant hurt… and with 9 games left until the playoffs.

This is a completely unprecedented move, and for an organization that over the years has been largely seen as smart and patient… to make this decision at this time… is completely shocking

Now, there WILL BE Grizzlies fans in the comments of this video that are excited about this move. They are tired of him as head coach, they think this team underperforms because of him, and they are simply ready for something new

But to me – this is extremely confusing. On the court at least, as of the recording of this video, there has been nothing “fireable” happening in Memphis

  1. I don’t know if Jenkins should be fired or not; but firing him so close to the end of the season? Why? Do they think getting him replaced with the assistant coach will allow them to be magically competitive at a championship level? Why couldn’t they just wait until the season is over and just let him go?

  2. Watch them hire the soon to be fired doc rivers😂😂😂. They passing him around like a blunt. Bad organizations do things like this

  3. I'm a GSW fan but always respected Taylor Jenkins and how he made the grizzlies into a really great team despite them being underdogs and the players inconsistent and rough around the edges.. They've been a big threat since they get Ja but could never get over the hump.

  4. Lots of shockers going on in the NBA. Ja Morant should have been traded. He’s not going to be a leader. He’s a good fit for the Lakers with Luka being the primary. Lebron…please retire. Hey this news keeps the NBA on the fans mind. Getting fired is ok. Going into the playoffs is simply disrespectful. The injury list and boneheaded acts are not the coaches fault. On second thought he’s a fit for the Pelicans. Pair him with Zion and it’s a chip in the making…NOT.
