  1. Eurostep and the gather have ruined basketball. Because every player pushs the limit, to the points refs don't call shit

  2. If you have to explain it to someone above age of middle school, it's a travel.
In the 90s it was simple without gather step is my point. That wasnt a thing.

  3. This why I never got into basketball. Looks fun but hard to learn the rules. Football was perfect but my big dumb head

  4. All I see is a lot more arching, twisting of the body to get a shot off that’s gonna relate into higher percentage of getting hurt

  5. It’s a travel and a carry. 2000s+ became special ed ball. Rules and defense watered down so players can be more entertaining in an attempt to increase NBA viewership after its decline once MJ retired in 1998

  6. He doublr dribbled though but everyone does that shit in the nba now adays. If your dribble starts with your hand under the ball each time it isnt a real dribble

  7. Still know Mrs. L. THAT ME AND YOU ARE SO FAR APART IN MY MIND THAT IT SHOULD BE THE SAME FOR U. PLEASE KNOW THIS DOG IS A DIFFERENT DEFFERENT THANG. I appreciate attention but not when wanted.

  8. This is another case of: Rule or Tradition.

People have a traditional view of what a travel is. And it's not in the rules.

  9. There was a time where we would have never gotten to see the step back bc lamelo would've been called for carrying the ball when he sized up the defender. Its cool to see new skills get mastered over time as the game improves but it makes it tough to compare players from different times when the rules are blatantly just different now. I think thats why the refs today get so bent out of shape at the smallest things bc theres nothing to officiate when the players are allowed to just run around doing streetball moves and chucking 3s

  10. Might not be a travel but muthafuckas be carrying like a mother it's getting out of hand or you can say in hand.

  11. Gather begins when the hand touches the ball, not .5 seconds after the hand touches the ball conveniently making this 2 steps, that shits a travel, nba don’t care tho lmao they let wayyy worse go

  12. For once Uploader is correct because Lamelo did not end his dribble on the 1st step but rest of the examples all show dribble ended at the "gather step". But there's a catch, while not written in the rule, it is an unwritten rule that only 1 gather step is allowed.

Edit, this is a travel. He ended his dribble 1/4 sec too soon with his 1st foot still on the floor but at game speed its probably not called.

  13. I do not buy it – and he actually took two steps. But everyone does it, specially when they spin and take a step backwards to increase the distance between the defender. Changing the subject, I watch ESPN all day long, and I thought I was watching a girls game, but than I focused and I saw it was a NBA game. Male players start looking like the female players * what is up with that?
