76ERS POSTCAST: Philadelphia 76ers fall to the Toronto Raptors, 127-109 while Pelicans WIN!

The Philadelphia 76ers lost to the Toronto Raptors, 127-109 to drop their 8th straight game. Lonnie Walker led the Sixers with 23 points but was outdone by RJ Barrett’s 31-point night!

Adem Bona put in another solid effort for the Sixers with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 blocks in the loss.

Walker and Bona were two of six 76ers to finish in double figures in scoring. Jalen Hood-Schifino dropped in 18 off the bench while Ricky Council scored 17 points with 11 rebounds.

The loss is another clutch one for the Sixers as the NBA’s 4th worst team, the New Orleans Pelicans beat the Charlotte Hornets! That puts the Sixers within 3 games of the NBA’s 4th worst record with 7 games left to play.

Segment 1: Player of the game: Adem Bona over Lonnie Walker! What you’ll be talking about tomorrow: It’s another well timed loss for the Sixers who are trying to work their way DOWN the NBA standings as much as possible. Their loss, coupled with the Pelicans’ beating the Hornets, means the Sixers are now within 3 games of the 4th worst record in the Association and an 81% chance of keeping their 1st round pick, a 48% chance of getting a top 4 pick and a 12% chance of getting the number one overall pick. The worst three teams in the NBA have a 14% chance of landing the number one pick.

Turning Point: The Raptors run in the second quarter that put the game out of reach for the Sixers. Toronto used back-to-back threes from Orlando Robinson and Cole Swider to propel them on a 25-14 run and never looked back, outscoring the Sixers 31-18 in the quarter.

Segment 2: What I’ve learned about the Sixers through this awful end of the season…Adem Bona will be a legit back-up-center in the NBA next year. Quentin Grimes who rested tonight, is a rotational player on an NBA Playoff roster.
