You don't need an All-Star at every position you just need competent players and company coaches.
So trading Kat (29) for Durant (36) makes sense to you? No matter how good Durant still is, I wouldn't ever make that trade. I would have loved for the Knicks to have him in his prime but as for now that's a NO for me. Getting him without giving up the core of the team is the only way that would make sense and that will never happen.

Absolutely not man. It’s gonna cost half the team and we’re already struggling with depth. It’d only make sense if we literally only lost one of the starting five and got him, which would be impossible with the salary cap.
Like if we were to lose OG and Hart plus, we’d lose defense. If it was Mikal, Deuce and Mitch, we’d have no depth and be fragile AF. No man, we got our Knicks, we only need more depth not trade away talent

All this nonsense as they're preparing for the playoffs. This click baiting is beyond ridiculous. To give up OG, Mitch and a first round pick, what are you smoking, i would not even consider trading any of our current draftpicks on the team. Durant is old, you can rack up numbers when nobody plays defense in the Western Conference and most games are shootouts. Great, a 37 yr old with a former achilles injury for Thibodeau to run up and down the floor 40 minutes per game. Make it make sense with the click baiting!!!

Durant does not fit in with the chemistry of the Knicks . Who cares about his stats when you don't mix well. Chemistry is more important than stats.Look at Divo he is not the same since he was traded to Minnesota. Chemistry is an intangible asset. Besides, he is to old…damaged goods, he will set us back. NO TRADE.

Generally dig your opinions and insights, however the fact that you would even put those trades on screen graphic, OG, is worth KD alone, and still not a good idea, perhaps equally injury prone but OG is a sleeper top 20 player in the league right now…glad you came full circle by the end, but no, KAT and JB need a full season together before we can judge anything, if we could get him for a handful of recently solid role players, sure, KD basically guarantees a title but yo, we don't need anything to change, just need the head of the dragon back on the floor

If Kevin Durant was in his prime then I would support this without question. He can defend, drive to the rim, shoot 3s, score in the midrange or finish on ally oops. He can also take over games…even now. Or if we had a different coach, maybe. Personally, I think the Knicks should get Mark Jackson or Mike Woodson next season then revisit this conversation.
However Thibs would run Durant into the ground and burn him out and unfortunately Durant isn't in his prime & has had a major injury in the past. We already see that Thibs barely allows Josh Hart, OG Anunoby and Mikal Bridges to sit down. He would do to KD what he did to Derrick Rose. Look at how good Delon Wright is and yet Thibs had us saying that he wasn't that great because he wouldn't play him. Now he's starting. Same goes for Ariel Hukporti who couldn't get off the bench but had the skills to dominate. Look at how good Quentin Grimes has gotten after having coaches that allow him to drive to the rim & do other things besides shoot 3s and defend.
As for whether we should get KD now? The issue is that we'd have to give up OG Anunoby who is balling right now and is a defensive superstar. If we could keep OG, Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart…then I would go for it…depending on how many players we'd have to give up in exchange.
Personally, though, I think the Knicks should go after at least 2 of these guys instead: Jalen Suggs (depending on how healthy he is), Collin Sexton, Jaden Ivey, Jaren Jackson Jr., Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, Nic Claxton, DeAndre Ayton (if he's healthy), Jakob Poeltl, Wendell Carter, Desmond Bane, Immanuel Quickley, Miles Bridges, Cam Thomas (if healthy) or Jalen Green.
Then I think we should sign Moses Brown so that we can have 3 good centers on the team: Ariel Hukporti, Moses Brown & whichever other guy the Knicks get in the offseason.
He is injury prone and we have enough of them 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
As for where Kevin Durant should go? I would suggest: Memphis, Orlando, Detroit or Minnesota.
