Ok i just finished the podcast. What you are missing is Jackson during those drought minutes ime didnt give chances to either cam or reed like in lakers game. So we are not in a position to evaluate that giving young core pays off or not. Remember he insisted to not give chances in first five too long for amen, but what happened. He is on his way to be superstar. At those times we all insisted that amen and eason are true first five players.and we were right and we are right for cam and sheppard believe me.
If KD comes and gets hurt or only plays 30-40 games, you’d have to be ok with having no regret. If you’d be regretful, then don’t do the deal.

The big questions before trading for KD – are the Rockets realistically a KD trade away from a championship in the next 3-4yrs? Is giving up premium assets worth it for a aging star with 3-4yr window? Nets & Suns failed bigtime, not even a good playoff run – what makes you think Rockets would be any different if they pull the trigger?

KD is not a top ten, people fall in love with the idea of KD but dude has not contributed to winning in a long time.
The Rockets would be silly to trade for an aging star like KD lol. Even if it's for Cam Whitmore and the Suns' 1st Rd pick. They need to keep their core and rising stars together at all cost. If anything, I'd trade for Andrew Nembhard from Pacers. I'm sure he'd love a chance to actually run starting PG instead of being relegated to an off ball guard most of the time due to Haliburton's ball dominance. I think it'll be more of an on ball/off ball balance with him playing next to Jalen. The Rockets would also be able to hide Jalen between Nembhard and Amen and other great on ball defenders since he's the defensive weak link.

Rockets may need a star trade but honestly dont think KD is the right move. There will always be disgruntled stars that will be available that more fits their timeline and grow together with the core..
Rockets have premium draft assets & young players that are highly coveted in the market, they dont have to settle for just the 1st shining star available.
There's a reason we are tired of that conversation. If we wanted to hear about how our 22 year olds aren't MVPs this year, we can listen to ESPN.
KD is probably the only star I'd be ok with. I think we could get him cheap, he doesn't get in the way of the core too much, would mesh well and would be gone when the guys are entering their prime.
BUT, it would have to include moving Dillon. Zero reason Dillon should be starting for us next year.
Cam is the only core guy I'd accept giving up. The PHX picks are highly valuable to them.
Also Jackson, you key in on the Kings and don't bring up the other up and coming teams that blew up their cores and are now middling.

Yes the Rockets will probably need a trade but NOT old and injury prone KD and not at the cost of the young core. Heck I wouldn't even trade Cam or Reed at this point for the 37 y/o KD. As much as I love fvv, he's the only disproportionate contract as it stands, but again noone will trade him by himself.
