I'm not convinced that the new owners didnt tell Nico to do this trade as a F you to Texas because the Texas govt refuses to allow casinos in Texas. The new owners are big casino owners and probably want to try to move the Mavs to Las Vegas where they can put a casino in the stadium like they want to. That is why Nico isn't fired and Cuban is going along with it even though the fan in him probably does hate it, but he is also a greedy guy so money wins over fandom. You can't tell me that Cuban doesn't have any investment in the new owner of the Mavs casinos.
