Calvin Booth made horrible decisions. Malone does not appear to have the chops to lead this team as they play soft. It appears the team doesn't really care if they disappoint Jokic. Booth has to go, probably Malone too, and then the new GM is going to have to pull out magic to get them out of the hole Booth put them in. They need to change so many pieces and most of the NBA, I think, are completely aware most of the guys on the Nuggets are massively overpaid. It will take miracle work to get out from under MPJ and Murray and find actual players that will play hard and actually help. I really wonder if Jokic is going to survive this. It is looking more and more likely he will either demand a trade or retire early. He probably isn't there yet and he might even consider it absurd to think about, but give him two more seasons of this crap and I think he might finally break enough to say "I'm done".
I guess I"ll be pulling for Houston in the playoffs since my Nuggets are a terrible team with no heart.
Guys, even if they do make a playoffs, its really hard to get excited about it. To go from 2 seed (not to even mention former champs!) to THIS? Even the players know they are not good enough, just look at them. They haven't given up (well some of them have), but they know.
Porter will be out of the league in two years just like Barton after Denver. Nice guy, but he's not mobile enough for the NBA. He is literally useless on defense due to his back injuries. Westbrook is simply washed. Jordan completely washed. It is hard to have big aspirations with the three of them. Worst of all, Murray is also injured. A complete breakdown of the system and FO and Malone are to blame for that. Malone leaves the game to lottery San Antonio so that Denver would lose even home court advantage, total nonsense. He should have rested players against GSW not against San Antonio. This is how we lost everything. Unreal low iq trainer. After last season, Denver first needed to find a good back up center because of Jokic's minutes. This is how Malone once again overpowered Jokic, who has no strength to defend because he plays 38 per game in the regular season. It's not quantum physics. You can't have washed Jordan as a back up center. The man wouldn't even play in the Chinese league. Unreal shit. Westbrook constantly in the red. When he was hurt Denver was 7-0 since then 11-13 it's unreal how much he kills a team. He doesn't defend the perimeter at all. Has anyone ever seen Porter and Westbrook put on a strong defensive intensity from the outside. Westbrook and Porter just leave the outside and go inside waiting for rebounds. Because of them, the whole defense falls apart. Zeke was good for a while but Malone killed him again. Denver next year without Booth, Porter, Westbrook, Jordan, Malone.

To be fair this is perfect. Even like the 10th seed we still have a chance in the play offs. Although with each game we see them that chance is smaller and smaller. BUT the most important thing, each player is getting exposed and telling us who he is. Keep Jokic, AG, CB, PWAT trade everyone else!

I remember people were already talking dynasty after the championship lol. Everyone got a big head including the coach and the team.
I always hear Chuck Barkley's voice in my head after games like this. He spoke the truth! "I hope they make a trade. You cannot waste the Joker's carreer. This guy is the best player in the world. If you have a guy that great, you gotta win some more. Get greedy!"

I mean, it is ridiculous. He works so hard. He plays so efficiently. He is awesome. But it is a team sport, he cannot do it on his own. His team robs him of future rings and also – because obviously the media people don't know the meaning of an "individual award" – of his deserved MVP. It is very frustrating.
Something is happening with this team , there is a problem in lockeroom for sure. They are not happy and everyone can see that. Big trades need to be done after season.
I straight up think Jokic going to another team is beneficial for both parties. Denver gets alot of picks and probably some young players in exchange and jokic can go compete in a team with a future.
Give Russell Westbrook 50m or lose him… fast fast…
Many of us in the comments have been saying this for over a year. If you're a small market and have a generational player, you're facing a unique opportunity in your history. You have to build a team to compete NOW, because in six or seven years (hopefully) you won't have that player and you'll spend another 50 years walking in the desert.
Booth needs to be fired immediately for being unable to provide Nikola with a competitive team, enhancing his strengths and minimizing his weaknesses. That is, surrounding the Serbian with explosive players, with excellent defense and who can score from three when free (De'Andre Hunter, Lu Dort, or Dillon Brooks type of players). Plus, of course, a ball-handler player who can play ISO, aside from Jamal Murray.
Malone needs to be fired immediately for being unable to create an offensive system, beyond what Jokić can generate. Only once in this game Nikola received a ball in a favorable position where he only needed to finish the play (a pass from Pickett). Nor has Malone been able to develop young players who have badly played on the team and demonstrated excellent performances in other franchises. Finally, in addition to his poor offensive scheme, his defensive system is much worse. It doesn't matter that MPJ, Murray, and Nikola aren't playing, the team continues to struggle defensively even with PWatt, Braun, Gordon, Westbrook, and DJ on the court. And that is a problem of the defensive system.
Winning is not the most important thing in professional sports. Money is far, far more important. This is especially true in the NBA with the small rosters and concentrated, top-heavy payrolls. Playing hard and finding a way to win are paths to a bigger paycheck, and once the players and coaches get there – with some notable exceptions – they’re just not motivated at the same level. This team is exorbitantly overpaid, and for the most part, their thoughts have turned to the offseason. Time to start over, another attempt to “run it back” will only yield a worse result.
So much negativity and thoughtless bashing. From the Russ haters to the Jamal haters to the MPJ haters… the list goes on and on. And finishing it off with the Jokic dick riders.
