If we (and they) learned anything from the Luka trade, the overton window around what you can and can not do to a fan base has blown wide open. Ain't no one gonna want Jamal right now, but everyone would want Joker. Shuffle him out the door, get that money, and I wager Jamal will suddenly give a shit about playing again. Let Jamal's stock rise for a year and trade his ass too. Sure Denver would be destroyed, but as far as the NBA thinks, who gives a shit about Denver. I feel like it's worth noting that Jokic hasn't had any other head coach besides Malone since he entered the NBA, will be interesting to see how he reacts. Also the fact that damn near every coach who has coached in every finals since 2019 (not including last years) has been fired. Job security for NBA coaches is almost lower than for NFL coaches as this point

Nikola Jokic was unironically born 5 days after the Valentine's Day Trade. He is already 30 and will turn 31 next Winter.
Calvin Booth was a large part of the issue. He took credit for the 23 Chip when it was Tim Connely who truly built the core that brought success. Then he started handing out Max contracts like they're cookies and player options to g leaguers and old assed vets. We've been critical here in Denver for some time of Booth. Now Malone wanted depth, a bench and some beef to run with Joker for another title or two and Booth wanted to build for the future, problem was Booth couldn't build a roster and so him and Malone hated one another publicly. So the Nuggs have shite picks, a beat up Murray, a head case in MPJ and AG is playing injured. The only 2 players who can bring it game in and game out are Christian Braun and of course Jokic. We may be screwed…I hope i'm proven wrong.

Their GM definitely deserved to get fired that roster outside of Jokic is ASS. Malone crashed out somewhat justifiably. Jamal Murray and MPJ's contracts will hold the team down these next 2 years. They already got their ring they'll happily collect the checks and first round exits

The only good decisions their gm has made is drafting Braun and paying Jokic. The other 3 big contracts are overpays, other than Braun they haven’t drafted anybody since 2018 and they’ve given out way too many bad contracts to lesser players. It’s not on the coach.
